Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'authentification optique qui comprend une pluralité d'éléments présentant des propriétés de polarisation optique, répartis de manière pseudo-aléatoire sur une zone prédéterminée; au moins trois marqueurs optiquement détectables, placés en des points prédéterminés par rapport à la zone prédéterminée. Lorsqu'on visualise la zone prédéterminée à l'aide du capteur d'imagerie optique d'un lecteur, sous un éclairage aux propriétés de polarisation spécifiques, on obtient une première image, différente d'une ou de plusieurs images obtenues sous un ou plusieurs autres éclairages présentant des propriétés de polarisation différentes. De cette manière, l'authentification est mise en oeuvre lorsque deux ou davantage d'images d'au moins une partie du dispositif sont comparées, à l'aide des marqueurs d'alignement, aux images sauvegardées du même dispositif ou à une partie de celles-ci, prises sous les mêmes éclairages.
