Description
Description FRAMELESS GLASSES Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates to frameless glasses, and more particularly to frameless glasses manufactured without holes formed on lenses different from the conventional way of manufacturing the frameless glasses by forming holes on the lenses.
[2] Background Art
[3] Conventional frameless glasses have to be manufactured by forming penetrating holes at sides of lenses so as to connect temples to the lenses and fixing a connecting part to the lenses to be disposed between the lenses. According to the conventional connecting manner, it is difficult to wipe the lenses, particularly portions around the fixing portions. Moreover, it is inconvenient that objects are partially blurred by the fixed portions when looking through the lenses.
[4] Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[5] Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide frameless glasses manufactured without lens damage
[6] Technical Solution
[7] In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, the above and other objects can be accomplished by the provision of frameless glasses including a pair of lenses formed with lens fixing parts at sides thereof a lens connecting part for connecting the lenses to each other and having a pair of lens fixing devices connected to the lens fixing parts, and a bridge for connecting the lens fixing devices, and temples having lens fixing devices connected to the lens fixing parts formed at outer sides of the lenses
[8] Advantageous Effects
[9] In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, the above and other objects can be accomplished by the provision of frameless glasses including a pair of lenses formed with lens fixing parts at sides thereof a lens connecting part for connecting the lenses to each other and having a pair of lens fixing devices connected to the lens
fixing parts, and a bridge for connecting the lens fixing devices, and temples having lens fixing devices connected to the lens fixing parts formed at outer sides of the lenses [10] Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[11] Hereinafter, frameless glasses according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. The accompanying drawings are used as examples for the purpose of describing the frameless glasses according to the present invention but the present invention is not limited thereto.
[12] Fig. 1 is an exploded perspective view illustrating frameless glasses according to the first embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 2 is an exploded perspective view illustrating frameless glasses according to the second embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 3 is a perspective view illustrating lenses employed in the third embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 4 is a perspective view illustrating lenses employed in the fourth embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 5 is a perspective view illustrating examples of a fixing box employed in the present invention, Fig. 6 is a perspective view illustrating assembly of frameless glasses according to the first embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 7 is a view illustrating drawing a frame by using a template as a first process of manufacturing the frameless glasses according to the present invention, Fig. 8 is a view illustrating manufacturing the template along the shape of the frame as a second process of manufacturing the frameless glasses according to the present invention, Fig. 9 is a plane view illustrating the template having the shape of the frame produced in the second process of manufacturing the frameless glasses according to the present invention, Fig. 10 is a view illustrating a third process of manufacturing a primary manufactured lens by using the template having the shape of the frame produced in the second process of manufacturing the frameless glasses according to the present invention, Fig. 11 is a photograph illustrating an edger utilized to manufacture the primary manufactured lens used in the third process, and Fig. 12 is a view illustrating a grinder used in the third process of manufacturing the frameless glasses according to the present invention.
[13] According to the present invention, the frameless glasses are manufactured without holes formed on lenses, different from the conventional method of manufacturing the frameless glasses by forming holes on the lenses. As shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 4, lenses 1 are formed with protrusions at sides thereof in comparison with the lenses in the conventional frameless glasses. The protrusions form lens fixing parts 1-1, and the lenses 1 are connected to each other by a variety of lens fixing devices 2, as shown in
Figs. 1, 2 and 5. Temples 5 are also formed with the same fixing parts 2 as the lens fixing devices 2 at ends therecf so as to be connected to the lenses 1. A connecting device includes a pair cf lens fixing devices 2 and a bridge 4 so as to construct frameless glasses by connecting the lenses 1 to each other. The lens fixing devices 2 are connected to the lens fixing parts 1-1 by an adhesive, screws, pressing a part cf the lens fixing devices 2, or the like. The frameless glasses constructed with the components shown in Fig. 1 are illustrated in Fig. 6, and Fig. 6 shows a bridge 6 not shown in Fig. 1. Preferably, the bridge 6 is integrally formed the lens fixing devices 2. The third embodiment shown in Fig. 3 is slightly different from the second embodiment as described above. As shown in Fig. 3, frameless glasses according to this embodiment cf the present invention are identical with the frameless glasses as described above except that the lens fixing parts 1-1 are nor protruded at sided cf the lenses 1, but formed at the insides cf the oval lenses 1.
[14] Fig. 5 shows a variety cf shapes cf the lens fixing devices 2 employed in this embodiment, but other shaped lens fixing devices different from the lens fixing devices 2 shown in Fig. 5 can be used. Figs. 7 through 10 show the stepwise process cf manufacturing lenses used in the present invention. Fig. 7 shows the process cf placing the template under the frame cf the glasses and marking ear portions and nose portion by drawing lines along the frame cf the glasses. Fig. 8 shows the process cf manufacturing the glasses-shaped template by removing outer portion cf the lines along the marked lines by a tool such as scissors. Fig. 9 shows the template 10-1 manufactured by the above process. Fig. 10 shows the process cf removing the rest 22 cf the lenses 1 manufactured by attaching the template 10-1 to the front side cf the lenses 1 (Lenses slightly larger than the template must be manufactured, while the edger used in this process is shown in Fig. 11). A device used to remove the lens removing parts 22 is shown in Fig. 12. As shown in Fig. 12, the device includes a first grinding part 11, a second grinding part 12, a motor 12 for rotating the first and second grinding parts 11 and 12, a lens holding part 14, disposed at the front cf the first and second grinding parts 11 and 12, for holding the lens, a lens support 15, and a lens moving unit.
[15] Although the preferred embodiments cf the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit cf the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims
