  • the mobile phone 121 includes an acoustic apparatus, which is a required component, for example, a speaker or an earpiece, and has a data communication function and a voice communication function.
  • the automatic responder 1 11 has a built-in ID of a mobile phone user, built-in credit card information, and various built-in electronic transactions information.
  • the automatic responder 1 1 1 confirms a mobile phone number and the password of the mobile phone user, and subsequently searches the corresponding electronic transaction information, encodes the information, modulates the encoded information into a sound signal, and sends the modulated information to the mobile phone 121.
  • the transaction information receiver 131 receives the encoded sound signal sent from the automatic responder 1 1 1 through a speaker in the mobile phone 121.
  • the transaction information receiver 131 is composed of a sound signal receiving apparatus which receives the encoded sound signal, for example, a microphone 133, a demodulator 135 which demodulates the sound signal received by the microphone 133, a transaction unit 137 which performs a transaction using the demodulated transaction information, and a transmitter 139 which sends the transaction completion result to a bank, a credit card company, or a transaction management system (not shown) with a special database.
  • the transaction management system confirms whether or not the transaction information is valid, and informs the result to the transaction information receiver 131 for the transaction to either proceed or not proceed.

  • the automatic responder 1 1 1 is composed of a telephone coupler 21 1 , a sound signal output unit 221 , a modulator 231 , a central processing unit 241 , and a memory 251.
  • the telephone coupler 21 1 receives a signal sent via a mobile communication company from the mobile phone 121 and/or sends acoustic data to the mobile phone 121 .
  • the sound signal output unit 221 transfers a signal sent by a modulator 231 to the telephone coupler 211.
  • the modulator 231 encodes and/or modulates the personal information of a mobile phone user sent from the central processing unit 241 and sends the result to the sound signal output unit 221 as a sound pattern. This sound is similar to a sound heard when sending a facsimile.
  • the central processing unit 241 responds the signal sent from the telephone coupler 21 1 and transfers to the modulator 231 the personal information of the mobile phone user stored in a memory 251 , for example, an ID of the mobile phone user, credit card information, a mobile phone number, various electronic transaction information, etc.
  • the central processing unit 241 may also require data from the mobile phone 121 shown in FIG. 1 via the telephone coupler 21 1.
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 a method of performing an electronic transaction using a mobile phone is described according to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • a mobile phone user makes a call to the automatic responder 1 1 1 by dialing a telephone number necessary to perform a transaction, that is, a telephone number of the automatic responder 1 1 1 , using the mobile phone 121 in step 1 .
  • the automatic responder 1 1 1 sends a message, 'input the password of the mobile phone user', to the mobile phone 121 in step 2.
  • the mobile phone user inputs the password, for example a 4-digit number
  • the mobile phone 121 sends the password to the automatic responder 1 1 1 in step 3.
  • the automatic responder 1 1 compares the password sent from the mobile phone 121 to a password stored in the memory 251 and confirms whether or not the passwords are the same in step 4. That is, the automatic responder 1 1 1 performs a procedure of authenticating the password of the mobile phone 121.
  • the automatic responder 1 1 1 encodes and/or modulates the personal transaction information of the mobile phone user stored in the memory 251 and sends the information to the mobile phone 121 as a sound pattern in step 5.
  • the mobile phone user closely adheres the speaker portion to the microphone 133 and transfers the sound signal sent from the automatic responder 1 1 1 to the transaction information receiver 131 in step 6.
  • the transaction information receiver 131 approves the transaction by sending the result to a transaction management system after decoding and/or demodulating the sound signal input into the microphone 133 through the demodulator 135, or requests the approval of the transaction from the transaction management system in step 7.
  • a mobile phone user makes a call to the automatic responder 1 1 1 by dialing a telephone number necessary to perform a transaction, that is, a telephone number of the automatic responder 1 1 1 , using the mobile phone 121 in step 1 .
  • the automatic responder 1 1 1 encodes and/or modulates the password and personal transaction information of the mobile phone user stored in the memory 251 and sends the result to the mobile phone 121 as a sound pattern in step 2.
  • the mobile phone user closely adheres the speaker portion of the mobile phone 121 to the microphone 133 and transfers a sound signal sent by the automatic responder 1 11 to the transaction information receiver 131 in step 3.
  • the transaction information receiver 131 decodes the password included in the sound signal in step 4.
  • the transaction information receiver 131 displays a message, 'input the password' in step 5.
  • the transaction information receiver 131 performs an authentication procedure of the password of the mobile phone user by comparing the password directly input by the mobile phone user with the password input via the mobile phone 121 in step 6.
  • the transaction information receiver 131 approves the transaction by sending the result to a transaction management system after decoding and/or demodulating the sound signal input in the microphone 133 through the demodulator 135, or requests the approval of the transaction from the transaction management system in step 7.
  • the present invention has the following advantages. First, since an acoustic apparatus is utilized in the mobile phone 121 , an additional component is not necessary in the mobile phone 121. Second, through a simple case, a transaction is accomplished. Third, there is the convenience of using the mobile phone 121 for processing a transaction. Fourth, the present invention can be simply adapted to the conventional mobile phone 121.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un système de paiement électronique et un procédé associé. Ce système permet d'exécuter un paiement électronique à l'aide d'un téléphone cellulaire classique, et comprend (1) un téléphone cellulaire, (2) un répondeur transmettant des informations au signal acoustique d'un téléphone cellulaire, représentant l'identité de l'utilisateur d'un téléphone cellulaire, des informations de carte de crédit, un numéro de téléphone cellulaire, et diverses informations de paiement électronique, réglant le téléphone cellulaire et établissant un appel, et décodant les informations de paiement électronique du téléphone cellulaire de l'utilisateur, et (3) un dispositif de réception destiné à exécuter le paiement électronique, décodant les informations de paiement électronique associées comprises dans le signal acoustique émis à l'aide du téléphone cellulaire.
