Abstract

An equipment to sprinkle liquid to the working area of a cold milling machine characterized by the fact that the tank (1) containing the liquid to be sprinkled is directly embedded in the frame (12) of the milling machine or it is integrated with the frame (1bis) that costitutes the structure of the milling machine.

Description

An equipment to sprinkle liquid to the working area of a cold milling machine Technical field
The present invention concerns the technology of cold milling machines for asphalt and concrete applied to motor machines, and in particular refers to auxiliary machines to sprinkle liquid to the working areas of the tools carrying drums.
State of the art
It is known the employment of auxiliary equipments to sprinkle water in the working areas of the cold milling machines to lower the problem of dust and the cool down the milling tools. In the known equipment the water to be sprinkled is loaded in a tank located on the motor machine and fed with a pump connected with longs pipes to the sprinkling nozzles located by the working area of the milling machine. In such set-up, when the milling machine has to be replaced by another equipment, the tank and the pump are applied to the motor machine and constitute useless and unstable load. When the need arises of applying to a motor machine a tank and pump, its layout and load are modified, thus requiring further permission to be driven.
The problem to be solved is to incorporate the tank and the pump in the same structure of the milling machine to overcome all the aforementioned problems.
Description
The invention is now disclosed with reference to the figures of the attached drawings as a non limiting example.
Figure 1 represents schematically a cold milling machine equipped with pump, pipes and sprinklers fed with the liquid contained in a plastic tank inserted within the bearing structure of the milling machine applied to a motor machine.
Figure Ibis represents schematically a milling machine whose bearing structure is shaped specifically to build an integrated tank (Ibis). Figure 2 schematizes a sprinkling plant consisting of a tank provided with pump with pipes that deliver the liquid to a plurality of sprinklers to be inserted in the working zone of the milling tool- holder drum. For the sake of clarity, figure 2 does not show the electric wire used to activate the pump through the electric plant of the motor machine.
Figure 3 and 4 represent to transversal sections of the tank and show that it can be obtained economically through printing plastic material. For simplicity, the figures don't show the section of an variant version of the tank integrated as bearing structure of the milling machine. In the figures each single detail is marked as follows:
1 is the single body of the tank obtained through printing of plastic material.
Ibis indicates the variant version of the tank integrated in the bearing structure of the milling machine.
2 is the opening for filling the tank.
3 is the tank closing cap.
4 is the intake pipe connected to the bottom of the tank.
5 is the pump that delivers the liquid.
6 is the pipe that connects the pump to water distribution network.
7 is a distribution link
8 and 8' are the pipes that connect to the different sprinklers.
9 and 9' are sprinklers to be placed by the working area.
It should be noticed that the drawing only shows two sprinklers for the sake of simplicity, but the actual number of sprinklers will depend on the actual size of the milling machine.
10 indicates the drum that holds the milling tools.
11 indicates the protective structure of the working zone of the milling machine.
12 indicates the tubular structure within which the liquid tank is inserted. 13 indicates the plate connected to the motor machine.
14 indicates a motor machine.
The clearness of the picture highlights the aspect that the tank is embedded or inserted inside wil n the frame of the milling machine, without increasing its overall dimensions and it is thus completely protected during the functional operations.
It should be also observed the whole sprinkling plant is embedded in the milling machine together with a tank, pump, tubes and sprinklers.
It should also be pointed out the fact that the overall dimensions of the motor machine, are not altered, thus the machine does not have to be tested for street circulation.
The invention of course allows for several variations of practical realization both as far as the dimensioning and structural proportioning are concerned, and for the technological choices of
the materials to be used. It thus follows that all the sprinkling plants to reduce dust problems and cool off the milling machines, which will feature a tank provided with a pump and embedded within the frame of the milling machine will be considered as being part of the protection sphere of the present invention.
