Abstract

La présente invention a trait à une soufflante centrifuge de puissance élevée à grande vitesse et à entraînement direct. La soufflante utilise un moteur électrique grande vitesse (>15,000 tours-minute) comportant un arbre d'entraînement secondaire qui est directement relié à une turbine logée à rotation au sein d'une volute. L'ensemble permet la rotation de la turbine à des vitesses allant jusqu'à 100,000 tours-minute sans interposition d'engrenages multiplicateurs ou de courroies et de poulies entre l'arbre d'entraînement secondaire du moteur et la turbine. La suppression d'un ensemble d'accouplement indirect entre l'arbre d'entraînement secondaire du moteur et la turbine permet d'obtenir un aspirateur/souffleur de puissance élevée à grande vitesse présentant une fiabilité supérieure à celle d'ensembles à accouplement indirect.
