Abstract

The object of this invention is to provide a support device for PET bottle caps. This support device is comprised of two or four wings (10) integrally projecting from the circumferential outer surface of a PET bottle cap (1) outwardly in a radial direction such that the wings (10) are gripped and turned by the thumb and fingers when rotating the cap (1) on a PET bottle mouth to tighten or loosen the cap (1). The wings (10) are each provided with a hole (11) at the outside end thereof for attaching a shoulder strap to the wings (10). Due to the wings (10) having the holes (11), a user easily tighten or loosen the cap (1) without finger slippage over the cap (1), in addition to easily carrying the bottle (B) by holding the wings (10) or bearing the strap on the shoulder.

Description

SUPPORT DEVICE FOR PET BOTTLE CAPS
Technical Field
The present invention pertains, in general, to a support device for PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottle caps and, more particularly, to a support device for PET bottle caps, which comprises one or more integral wings projecting radially outwardly from a circumferential outer surface of a cap of a PET bottle containing drinking water to allow a user to easily carry the bottle by holding the wings and to allow old and feeble persons to easily tighten or loosen the cap without finger slippage over the cap.
Background Art
As well known to those skilled in the art, drinking water sold at a market is mostly put into transparent or semitransparent PET bottles, and their use is increasing steadily.
The PET bottle containing the drinking water is sealed with a cap on a PET bottle mouth, and it can be discriminated whether the PET bottle is airtightly sealed or not by confirming whether a band part separably connected to a circumferential lower end of the cap is broken or not.
With reference to FIG. 1, a conventional PET bottle cap is structured such that an uneven part 2 is formed on a circumferential outer surface of the cap 1 so as to provide frictional resistance allowing a user to easily turn the cap 1.
However, in practice, the uneven part 2 of the cap 1 does not provide sufficient frictional resistance to a contact surface between a user's fingers and the outer surface of the cap 1 when the cap 1 is rotated in order to break the band part 3 connected to a neck 4 of the PET bottle (B). Particularly, it is not easy for old and feeble persons to rotate the cap 1 of the PET bottle (B) to break the band part
3. Meanwhile, a user generally grips the neck of the PET bottle (B) using one hand when the PET bottle with the cap 1 is carried across a short distance but, in the case of a large PET bottle with a volume of 2 D or more, it is inconvenient to grip the large PET bottle using one hand to carry it.
Disclosure of the Invention
Accordingly, the present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a support device for PET bottle caps, which allows a cap on a PET bottle mouth to be easily removed from a PET bottle. Another object of the present invention is to provide a support device for
PET bottle caps, which allows a PET bottle to be conveniently carried by gripping wings constituting the support device, or slinging a strap attached to the wings over the shoulder.
Based on the present invention, the above objects can be accomplished by providing a support device for PET bottle caps structured such that wings are outwardly projected in a radial direction from a circumferential outer surface of a PET bottle cap sealing a PET bottle, and each provided with a hole at the outside end thereof for attaching a shoulder strap thereto, thereby allowing a user to grip the wings and turn by the thumb and fingers when rotating the cap on a PET bottle mouth to easily tighten or loosen the cap, and conveniently carry the PET bottle by gripping the wings or slinging the strap over his shoulder.
Brief Description of the Drawings
The above and other objects, features and other advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional PET bottle cap; FIGs. 2a and 2b are a perspective view and an elevational view in section of a PET bottle cap according to a first embodiment of the present invention, respectively;
FIG. 3 is a top view of a PET bottle cap according to a second embodiment of the present invention; and
FIGs. 4a and 4b are elevational views of the PET bottle caps of the present invention, in which the two wings are outwardly projected in a radial direction from an upper and a lower portion of the circumferential outer surface of the PET bottle cap.
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
Reference now should be made to the drawings, in which the same reference numerals are used throughout the different drawings to designate the same or similar components.
FIGs. 2a and 2b are a perspective view and an elevational view in section of a PET bottle cap according to a first embodiment of the present invention, respectively, in which two wings 10 are outwardly projected in a radial direction from the circumferential outer surface of a PET bottle cap 1 sealing a PET bottle (B). At this time, the two wings 10 are positioned at diametrically opposite sides of the cap 1. The wings 10 each have a size suitable to turn the cap 1 based on a leverage principle when rotating the cap 1 on a PET bottle mouth to tighten or loosen the cap 1, and are each provided with a hole 11 at the outside end thereof for attaching a shoulder strap (not shown) to the wings 10.
FIG. 3 is a top view of a PET bottle cap according to a second embodiment of the present invention; and FIGs. 4a and 4b are elevational views of the PET bottle caps of the present invention, in which the two wings are outwardly projected in a radial direction from an upper and a lower portion of the circumferential outer surface of the PET bottle cap. Alternatively, four wings may be integrally projected from the PET bottle cap, or the wings may be projected from a middle portion of the circumferential outer surface of the PET bottle cap, in a radial direction.
Accordingly, the user grips the cap 1 and wings 10 and turns them by the thumb and fingers to rotate the cap 1 on the PET bottle mouth, thereby breaking a band part 3 connected to a neck 4 of the PET bottle to easily take off the cap 1 from the PET bottle even though the user turns the cap 1 with a relatively feeble force.
Furthermore, the support device for PET bottle caps according to the present invention is useful to allow the user to conveniently carry the PET bottle by gripping the wings 10, or slinging the strap, attached to holes 11 of the wings 10, over his shoulder.
Industrial Applicability
As described above, a support device for PET bottle caps according to the present invention is advantageous in that the support device comprises one or more integral wings projecting radially outwardly from a circumferential outer surface of a PET bottle cap, and each provided with a hole at the outside end thereof for attaching a shoulder strap thereto, thereby allowing a user to grip the wings and turn by the thumb and fingers when rotating the cap on a PET bottle mouth to easily tighten or loosen the cap, and to conveniently carry a PET bottle by holding the wings or slinging the strap on the shoulder.
The present invention has been described in an illustrative manner, and it is to be understood that the terminology used is intended to be in the nature of description rather than of limitation. Many modifications and variations of the present invention are possible in light of the above teachings. Therefore, it is to be understood that within the scope of the appended claims, the invention may be practiced otherwise than as specifically described.
