  • This invention relates to the area of inflatable images and in particular to inflatable objects which can be worn by humans.
  • inflatable figures, animals and the like are also known for inflatable figures, animals and the like to be used as mascots or to create attention at events or to provide entertainment at events. These either stand alone or are worn by people, if they are to be given movement, and in addition to their use when staging events they are often worn by people doing promotional work.
  • These inflatable objects or images are cold air inflatable products which are usually manufactured from PVC or nylon and similar materials and can be shaped in a multiplicity of designs and sizes. They are kept inflated by the injection of air introduced by means of a power operated supply. If worn by a person however these objects or images are unweildy and uncomfortable and difficult to move in.
  • the invention in one instance is an inflatable device which includes a container in which a decorative inflatable object is stored when not in use, said container having attachment means to a wearer's body, and inflation means such that , when the object is inflated, it can be worn on the body such that the wearer retains freedom of movement.

  • the backpack 20 is also provided with a battery 31 operated constant cold air fan 30 which inflates the object when battery contacts are connected, this acts to release the inflatable image through an opening in the backpack.
  • the connection of the battery contacts is therefore the triggering mechanism for inflation of the inflatable object in this embodiment of the invention.
  • the battery 31 activates the fan 30 to draw air from the inlet tube 35 to inflate that inflatable object 10, the battery and fan being stored in the backpack as is the inflatable object when not inflated.
  • triggering mechanism used is not germane to the invention and many mechanisms are known including the use of a simple on/off toggle or the like. In this embodiment of the invention simple contact between the battery terminal is made.
  • the wearer of the backpack could either open an opening in the backpack to release the inflatable object or it could be released through an opening in the backpack which is controlled by an associated triggering mechanism.
  • the inflatable object can be released through an opening in the backpack 20 which would otherwise be closed by a zip or Velcro®.
  • the type of material used for the inflatable image and the backpack can also be of any appropriate material, including those previously described, however the result of the invention is that an interesting inflated object is able to be worn by a person preferably on the person's back.
  • the inflatable images of the invention have the further advantage that after use they can be deflated and repacked into the backpacks until required at some future time for another event as it is a simple matter to either replace or recharge batteries if these are the power supply used for inflation.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif gonflable comportant un réceptacle dans lequel un objet décoratif gonflable est rangé lorsqu'il n'est pas utilisé, ledit réceptacle présentant des moyens de fixation au corps d'un porteur, et des moyens de gonflage de sorte que, lorsque l'objet est gonflé, il puisse être porté sur le corps de manière à permettre à l'utilisateur de préserver sa liberté de mouvement.
