Abstract

L'invention concerne un substrat (1, 101, 201) destiné à une puce optique (10, 110, 210) et comportant une surface (3, 103, 203) dans laquelle un canal (7, 107, 207) est ménagé pour une fibre optique (13, 113) pouvant y être reçue. En vue de faciliter l'élimination de l'adhésif en excès utilisé pour fixer la fibre optique dans le canal, ce canal est muni d'une partie inférieure (23,25;123,125;223,225) présentant un profil étagé. Pour permettre l'évasement de l'extrémité libre (14, 114, 214) de la fibre optique, notamment par clivage laser, le canal peut pénétrer dans une section élargie au niveau d'une face d'extrémité (12, 112, 212) correspondante. Ces caractéristiques favorisent un repos à plat de la fibre optique dans le canal et assurent un couplage optique amélioré entre la fibre optique et un composant optique (5, 105, 205) sur la surface située au niveau de la face d'extrémité. Pour un couplage optique optimal entre la fibre optique et le composant optique, la face d'extrémité peut s'étendre en largeur avec un angle incliné par rapport à l'axe dudit canal, cet angle correspondant sensiblement à l'angle de clivage de l'extrémité libre de la fibre optique. En vue d'empêcher l'extrémité libre de la fibre optique de toucher le composant optique lors de l'introduction de la fibre optique dans le canal, un évidement (27, 127, 227) peut être ménagé dans la face d'extrémité de manière à espacer l'extrémité libre du composant optique.
