Gerade in diesem Bereich ist das einfache Einstellen eines Ruhesitzes gewünscht, beispielsweise um sich auf einer Autobahnraststätte im Fahrzeug auszuruhen oder allgemein um bei einer längeren Fahrt eine kurze Unterbrechung einzulegen, wo man sich für eine Zeit die Beine hochlegen und eine Ruheposition einlegen kann. Hierzu ist von Vorteil, wenn der Fahrzeugruhesitz ohne großen Aufwand in seine Ruheposition und auch wieder in die normale Sitzposition für die spätere Weiterfahrt gebracht werden kann. Der Ruhesitz kann zum gelegentlichen Übernachten im Fahrzeug genutzt werden.
