Abstract

L'invention concerne une méthode de détection du cancer chez un patient. Ladite méthode consiste à exposer un échantillon (4) de cheveux, retiré du patient, à un faisceau incident de rayons X d'une source (1) de rayons X. Les rayons X sont dispersés par les cheveux, puis sont détectés par un détecteur (11). Des caractéristiques prédéterminées des rayons X dispersés sont contrôlées; ces caractéristiques se sont révélées différentes chez des patients qui ne sont pas atteints de cancer que chez des patients atteints d'un cancer, ou ceux à risque élevé d'en développer un. La source de rayons X peut être une source-étalon de rayons X incohérente, comme celles utilisées dans les cliniques et les laboratoires.
