Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif optomécanique, fondé sur le couplage de modes, et des procédés d'utilisation de ce dispositif. Selon cette invention, deux guides d'ondes se croisent et un coupleur mobile suspendu est situé au niveau du croisement, de sorte que, lorsque ce coupleur est activé, la lumière qui se propage dans un des guides d'ondes est couplée dans le deuxième guide d'ondes. Ce coupleur peut être un troisième guide d'ondes qui, par déviation dans le plan, est amené à proximité immédiate des côtés des deux guides d'ondes ou en contact avec ces côtés. Cette action crée un chemin optique par le biais des champs évanescents des deux guides d'ondes et du guide d'ondes de couplage lui-même. Cette composante de base crée une unité de commutation 1 sur 1 pouvant être augmentée pour former des matrices non bloquantes de 'n' guides d'ondes d'entrée par 'm' guides d'ondes de sortie. Cette invention concerne également des applications pour systèmes à insertion-extraction de longueurs d'onde et pour systèmes égaliseurs de gain.
