Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de déterminer la situation géographique d'un utilisateur Internet opérant dans un réseau privé. On utilise à cet effet un serveur interné placé à l'intérieur du réseau privé. Ce serveur interne détermine la situation géographique de l'utilisateur Internet puis renvoie cette information à l'interrogateur. Le serveur interne peut déterminer la situation géographique de toute façon appropriée, et notamment au moyen d'une recherche dans une table faisant correspondre à l'adresse interne d'un utilisateur interne l'adresse externe ou une base de données d'adresses d'utilisateurs Internet. De préférence, l'utilisateur Internet demandant une information dans un site web est renvoyé par ce site au serveur interne, après quoi le serveur interne, lorsqu'il a déterminé la situation géographique, renvoie l'utilisateur Internet sur le site web de façon à fournir au site l'information de situation géographique.
