Abstract

The inventive control method for a high frequency plasma display provides the high efficiency and simplifies the embodiment of the high frequency plasma display. According to the inventive method, a high frequency discharge characterised by low-losses and a quasistationarity is embodied in said display, a lower limit of operating frequencies of a high-frequency maintaining voltage is defined when a distance between basic electrodes of a cell of the plasma display and a working gas density are predetermined. A formation of the high frequency discharge in the cells makes it possible to use mixtures with a high xenon content and the pure xenon as the working gas, thereby increasing the conversion efficiency of electric energy of the discharge in the ultraviolet radiation thereof and the performance of the plasma display. Said method also consists in defining the lower limit of the operating frequencies of a high-frequency maintaining voltage when the xenon is used as a dominating gas component of the working gas The definition of the lower limit of the operating frequencies makes it possible to determine the operating frequency of the high-frequency maintaining voltage in a region close to said lower limit, thereby reducing the losses produced by the discharge and electrode losses, increasing the performance characteristics and the light intensity of the high frequency display. Said method also makes it possible to produce the display with lower costs.
