Description

The present invention relates to a method of loading and unloading on a trailer and an associated trailer for the road transport of nautical equipment of the type of a marine motorbike or even of all terrain vehicle of the four-wheeled motorcycle type generally called " quad "; this type of trailer is more particularly designed to receive and transport together two watercraft of any size and weight with a "quad" and a trunk for transporting the accessories intended for the operation of the machines and for the safety of the drivers.
We know well the watercraft which are in fact light boats generally propelled by a turbine also ensuring the direction of the boat thanks to a handlebar; the user and his passengers are installed on the boat in much the same way as on a motorcycle. We also know the growing craze for "all terrain" gear comprising four wheels driven by a motor and controlled as for motor-boat by a handlebar like a motorcycle. "Quad" and motor-marine often go together for the practice of nautical leisures and it is therefore often necessary to transport them together on the same vacation spot. However, these vehicles have genuinely different structures and it is always extremely difficult to group them on the same transport trailer because of a space often incompatible with the road standards in force in most countries.
On the other hand, watercraft are relatively heavy and most of the time require several people for their transport and launching before use; the problem obviously arises at the time of return when it is necessary to reload the vehicles on a transport trailer. Until now, we only found on the market only trailers strictly adapted to the transport of one or two "quads" or to the transport of one or two watercraft, moreover requiring several people to load and unload them at the desired time. Finally, like any recreational boat, a motor-boat requires, for its launching and naturally its removal, a means which often consists in using the transport trailer which one comes to immerse to release the boat and vice versa to get it out of the water; trailers are rarely designed for this; they are quickly corroded and their non-waterproof equipment quickly put out of use. A solution has already been proposed using a launching trolley without equipment and made of stainless material, coming to the place of use to replace the trailer which is then reserved only for road transport; but there then remains the problem of the intermediate carriage which must also be transported or abandoned on the spot, which poses the problem of correctly stacking on the transport trailer the assembly consisting of the boat, of its carriage water and, if necessary, "quad" advantageously used to tow the cart, without exceeding the usual road standards and without requiring several people to load and unload the trailer. The object of the present invention is precisely to provide a method and a road assembly allowing the transport of at most two watercraft and a "quad" and possibly all of their accessories, on the same trailer which can be loaded and unloaded in any place by one person. Such an assembly is also particularly advantageous since it allows once on the spot to use the "quad" to transport the watercraft, even in difficult places where the "quad" can generally access. Thus, the trailer according to the invention will it be advantageous for long journeys while, at the place of leisure, the "quad" will be advantageously used for the local handling of motor-watercraft. It goes without saying that the whole road according to the invention is intended to be hitched behind a passenger vehicle, that is to say that the maximum wheelbase of the loaded trailer must not exceed the road standards in force. In this regard and in accordance with the invention, there is provided a method of loading and vice versa of unloading, at least one motor-boat on a trailer for its road transport comprising at least one rigid axle bringing a set of wheels and supporting a chassis formed by at least two parallel beams arranged between the wheels to form with at least two parallel front and rear crossmembers, the carrier frame of the trailer, extended at the front by a drawbar coupled to a conventional coupling system , remarkable process by the succession of the following stages:
- treuillage de la moto-marine pour la monter et la caler sur un chariot de mise à l'eau, remorquage du chariot chargé vers la remorque en stationnement, et alignement du chariot et de la remorque, l'attelage dudit chariot venant alors en appui sur la traverse arrière du cadre-porteur de la remorque, avantageusement en appui sur un rouleau solidaire de ladite traverse tournant librement sur lui- même selon un axe parallèle à cette traverse, puis- winching of the watercraft to mount and stall it on a launching trolley, towing of the loaded trolley towards the parked trailer, and alignment of the trolley and the trailer, the coupling of said trolley then coming in bearing on the rear crossmember of the carrier frame of the trailer, advantageously bearing on a roller secured to said crossmember freely rotating on itself along an axis parallel to this crossmember, then
- treuillage en utilisant une traverse avant du cadre-porteur de la remorque du chariot dont le timon puis le châssis, glisse sur la traverse arrière ou sur le rouleau, en s 'inclinant d'abord de bas en haut et d'arrière en avant puis inversement jusqu'à décoller ses roues du sol progressivement, jusqu'à ce que le système d'attelage du chariot se trouve au droit d'un système d'amarrage solidaire d'une traverse à l'avant du cadr -porteur, une roue au moins du chariot venant alors au contact du rouleau ou à défaut de la traverse arrière, des moyens de fixation vertical et transversal du châssis du chariot coopérant à cet instant et automatiquement avec le cadre porteur de la remorque, puis- winching using a front crossmember of the carrier frame of the trailer, the drawbar then the chassis, slides on the rear crossmember or on the roller, first tilting from bottom to top and from back to front then vice versa until the wheels gradually take off from the ground, until the carriage coupling system is located in line with a mooring system secured to a cross member at the front of the cadr-carrier, a wheel at least of the carriage then coming into contact with the roller or failing that of the rear crossmember, means for vertical and transverse fixing of the chassis of the carriage cooperating at this instant and automatically with the carrying frame of the trailer, then
In addition, it is clear that such a loaded and unloaded road assembly as just said and comprising a main trailer cooperating with at least one launching trolley fully meets the problems of users wanting to make the most of their free time; in fact, only one person is needed to handle the winching means, for example constituted by a small winch fixed on the drawbar of the launching trolley allowing all the maneuvers of loading and unloading of the motor-marine on its launching trolley, as well as the launching of the motor-marine and its recovery to wedge it on the trolley which can then be easily towed by the "quad" and thus move in any place, even difficult, before first loading the watercraft, then the "quad" if necessary on the same trailer coupled to a vehicle for a return home. Many other advantages and characteristics will emerge more clearly from the description of a trailer equipped for the transport of two watercraft arranged longitudinally side by side and of a "quad" across, which will be given by way of illustration not limiting of the invention with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
For simplification of the figure, a "quad" has not been shown; only the tracks and their access ramps have been shown: one is shown lowered to the ground in the mounted position and the other (closest to the coupling system) has been shown in its transport, i.e. in the raised position,
With reference to the figures, the trailer 1 in accordance with a preferred, although non-limitative embodiment of the invention, is intended for the road transport of at least one motor-boat 2, and at most two motor-boats 2 and a machine all terrain type of a four-wheeled motorcycle commonly called "quad", not shown in the figures.
Each marine motorbike 2 is associated with a launching trolley 3 which is loaded together on the chassis 4 of the trailer 1 with a view to their transport while being arranged in cantilever at the rear of the chassis 4 of trailer 1 and stowed by means which will be detailed later; during a loading comprising two motorized watercraft, the two launching trolleys 3 are placed side by side and in rear overhang; on the front part of the trailer 1 and across it, two parallel tracks 5 and 6 are arranged in the same plane, at an adjustable distance corresponding to the wheelbase of the "quad" which can be easily mounted by its own means thanks to access ramps 7,8 articulated respectively to tracks 5 and 6 and shown in FIG. 2, for one 7, in a vertical position corresponding to the transport position and for the other 8, in tilted position towards the ground allowing the ascent or descent of the quad; it goes without saying that the two ramps 7,8, advantageously of the same invoice as the rolling tracks are provided with a system for maintaining the vertical transport position, for example wedges or pins (not shown in the figures).
In addition and incidentally, it may be advantageous to have between the coupling 9 of the trailer 1 and the tracks 7,8, a trunk 10 straddling the drawbar 11 and fixed to it, to receive the accessories related to the use of watercraft and quad bikes, such as helmets, gasoline and other common tools.
According to a particularly advantageous configuration, the chassis 4 of the trailer 1 essentially consists of two beams 401.402 arranged in parallel between the main wheels 12 of the trailer 1, raised by a rigid axle 13 secured to said beams by easily adjustable means allowing to properly adjust the axle according to the total load of the trailer 1. The two beams 401 and 402 cooperate with at least two identical crosspieces 14 and 15 respectively disposed towards the front and rear of the chassis 4 to form with the longitudinal members 401 and 402 a rectangular support frame 43; according to an accessory characteristic of the invention, the two front and rear crosspieces 14,15 are secured to the side members 401,402 by means of easily adjustable stirrups formed from threaded rods 16 bent in the shape of a U coming in cooperation with spacers and nuts maintain firmly in support each cross member 14.15 on the underside of the side members 401.402 as shown in the enlarged partial view to the right and at the bottom of FIG. 1; thus, it is very simple to mount the elements of the carrier frame 403 and also to fix the length / width dimensions to adapt it to the vehicles transported.
En vue du chargement et de l'arrimage des chariots de mise à l'eau 3 supportant comme il sera dit plus loin les motos-marines 2, il est prévu de disposer sur une traverse intermédiaire 17, disposée à l'avant du cadre-porteur 403The two longitudinal members 401, 402, normally parallel to form the support frame 403 as has been said, are folded beyond the front cross member 14 so as to make them converge on the coupling 9 of the trailer. Thus, the drawbar 11 takes the general form of an isosceles triangle whose apex corresponds to the fork box of the hitch 9 and whose base is formed by the front cross member 14. This particularly simple structure of the chassis 4 of the trailer 1 has the enormous advantage of great simplicity of assembly while providing solidity remarkable to the whole structure which, because of this, is considerably reduced compared to more traditional trailers. In this respect, it will be observed that this structure, preferably made of stainless steel tube with square section, is remarkable in that it does not include any weld and therefore no point of weakness which can cause ruptures; thus, to the solidity is added lightness and a total adaptability with respect to the transported vehicles. With a view to loading and securing the launching carriages 3 supporting, as will be said below, the motor-boats 2, provision is made to have on an intermediate cross member 17, placed at the front of the frame- carrier 403
Les étriers 21 sont ensuite contreserrés par au moins un boulon 22 venant rapprocher l'une de l'autre les deux ailes du U contre les faces latérales desdits longerons 401,402.(possibly incidentally the cross member 14 forming said support frame) to receive the fastening members 18 of the couplings at the end of the drawbars 20 of the launching carts 3. The fastening members 18 are advantageously ball systems as they are traditionally mounted at the rear of vehicles to collaborate with fork boxes 19 forming the couplings of the carriages 3; it goes without saying that the ball fasteners 18 are mounted adjustable along the crosspiece 17 which allows them to be adjusted in coincidence with the boxes 19 according to the size of the carriages 3. Given a preferred embodiment as shown in top view in Figure 2, the cross member 17 behind the track 6 is also adjustable in the longitudinal direction from front to rear on the side members 401,402 of the trailer. To do this and unlike the cross member 14 which is fixed from below, the cross member 17 supporting the fixing balls, 18 is maintained as shown in the partial perspective view to the left and at the bottom of FIG. 1, by a stirrup 21 , in the form of an inverted U secured to the ends of the cross member 17 and straddling the side members 401, 402 to serve as longitudinal guide along these same side members. The stirrups 21 are then counter-clamped by at least one bolt 22 coming closer one from the other, the two wings of the U against the lateral faces of said longitudinal members 401,402.
In order to facilitate the loading and unloading, respectively, of the carriages 3 on the carrier frame 403 as will be specified below, there is a roller 23 mounted free on its axis and fixed on the rear cross member 15 projecting rearward of the trailer 1 by flanges 24 making it possible to adjust its transverse position on the cross-member 15; in this way, when the launching trolley 3 berths with its drawbar 20 the rear crossmember 15 of the trailer 1 before loading, said drawbar 20 advantageously comes to rest on the roller 23 thus facilitating its winching on the carrier frame 403 and therefore the loading of the assembly, as will be said later. In accordance with the representation of FIG. 2, the rolling track 5 has been shown astride the drawbar 11 of the trailer: it goes without saying that such an assembly optimizes the mechanical construction of said trailer, but any other longitudinal position of the Tracks 5,6 resting for example on the carrier frame 403 would be quite possible in the case where one wishes to reserve the front part of the trailer for a trunk 10 much larger. Likewise, it goes without saying that the rolling tracks 5 and 6 are, at least for one of them, equipped with an end stop on the side opposite to its access ramp 7 or 8.
According to a conventional configuration for this type of equipment, there is incidentally provided an automatic braking system comprising a jack 25 on the coupling coupled to a conventional wheel braking; similarly and as shown in Figure 2, a parking wheel 26 is secured at the end of the drawbar 11 to ensure the horizontal stability of the trailer 2 when stopped.
In accordance with the figures, there will now be described a preferred form of the carriage 3, shown alone and on a larger scale, in FIG. 3, allowing the launching of a motor-boat 2 and its withdrawal, as well as the loading of the assembly on trailer 1 as will be detailed later. The carriage 3 according to the invention consists, like the trailer 1, of a chassis 30 mounted on a rigid axle 31 carrying wheels 32, secured to a drawbar 20 comprising at the end a coupling system comprising, as has been already mentioned above a fork box 19 capable of cooperating with the coupling ball 18 secured to the front cross member 17 of the trailer 1. The chassis 30 consists of two beams 33, 34 arranged between the wheels 32 and held between them at equal distance by at least two parallel crosspieces 35,36 forming with the side members 33,34 a rectangular support frame 37; incidentally, the two beams 33,34 are folded towards each other beyond the front crossmember 35 to be joined and secured to the drawbar 20, either by welding, or by conventional bolting. The wheels 32 are in principle of a smaller diameter than the wheels 12 of the trailer to allow sufficient ground clearance when the carriage 3 is in the loading position on said trailer 1; it goes without saying that the wheels 32 of the launching trolley 3 are treated to be immersed and advantageously include low pressure tires capable of rolling on sand or the like.
According to a preferred embodiment, the front and rear crosspieces 35 and 36 are adjusted against the underside of the side members 33,34 by means of stirrups formed from U-threaded rods as already described for the front and rear crosspieces 14,15 of trailer 1; these fasteners allow rapid mounting of the carriage as well as various adjustments for the longitudinal positioning of the crosspieces or the spacing of the side members 33,34.
Coopérant avec les barres parallèles 38,39 pour maintenir la partie arrière de la coque de la moto-marine, il est prévu à l'avant du chariot un tampon 40 en un matériau absorbant susceptible de recevoir en appui la nervure du nez de la moto-marine après treuillage sur le chariot 3 ; le tampon 40 sera par exemple monté sur un bras incliné 41 solidarise au timon 20 de telle manière qu'il puisse être réglé à bonne hauteur pour coïncider avec l'appui avant de la moto-marine en position horizontale ; avantageusement, un treuil 42 sera fixé sur le bras 41 ou sur une jambe de renfort 43 qui lui est associée, permettant comme il sera dit plus loin, de charger la moto-marine sur le chariot 3 mais également de charger l'ensemble chariot/moto-marine sur la remorque 1.Parallel bars 38 and 39, advantageously cylindrical, extend parallel and above the side members 33, 34 to which they are joined by their ends which, for this purpose, have been bent in the direction of the side members according to a profile capable of forming, at least aft of the carriage 3, an access ramp for the hull of the motor-boat which gradually comes to rest, along its longitudinal axis, on said bars 38, 39; of this way, the hull of the marine motorbike 2 can rest on the entire length of the parallel bars 38,39 which distributes its weight over a length such that the hull cannot be damaged even during severe tremors during transport; it goes without saying that the spacing of the support bars 38,39 can be easily adjusted thanks to the crossbar adjustment system 35,36 as it was said previously. According to an accessory characteristic of the invention, it is further provided to cover the bars 38.39 at least on the useful part coming into contact with the hull of the motor-marine 2, with a plastic material such as a sheath spiral of the type that is commonly used to bury underground cables for example; in addition, the size of the tube constituting the parallel bars 38, 39 is such that it provides a certain vertical flexibility which even better absorbs shock and vibration during transport. Cooperating with the parallel bars 38, 39 to hold the rear part of the hull of the motor-yacht, there is provided at the front of the carriage a pad 40 made of an absorbent material capable of receiving the rib of the motorbike in support. -Marine after winching on the carriage 3; the buffer 40 will for example be mounted on an inclined arm 41 secured to the drawbar 20 so that it can be adjusted to the correct height to coincide with the front support of the motor-boat in a horizontal position; advantageously, a winch 42 will be fixed on the arm 41 or on a reinforcement leg 43 which is associated with it, allowing, as will be said later, to load the motor-boat on the carriage 3 but also to load the carriage / assembly watercraft on trailer 1.
According to another important characteristic of the invention, provision is made to have on each carriage 3 means for vertical and lateral attachment of said carriage when it is loaded on the trailer 1 in the transport position; for this purpose, a first hook 44 or equivalent, is arranged in a vertical plane under the frame 37 of the carriage 3 while being secured for example by welding to the beams 33, 34 with an opening towards the drawbar 20 so as to automatically engage around the roller 23, or failing this, around the cross member 15 carrying said roller 23, when the carriage 3 is hitched in the stowed position on the trailer, for example on the ball 18 fixed on the intermediate cross member 16 or, failing this, on the front cross member 14; a second hook 45 is provided on at least one external face of a beam 33 of the carriage, extending substantially in the horizontal plane with an opening towards the front, that is to say towards the drawbar 20 of the carriage, to automatically engage on the hollow end of the corresponding beam 401 of the carrier frame 403 of the trailer 1, when the coupling of the carriage 3 is stowed on said trailer 1; thus, it suffices with a single lateral hook 45 coming to cooperate with a spar 401 to ensure the lateral fixing of the carriage and a hook 44 disposed in the vertical plane around either the roller 23 or the cross member 15 which supports it, to ensure vertical fixing when the fork box of the carriage is engaged on the fixing ball 18 secured to a front cross member 16 of the trailer.
According to another characteristic arising from the above, the width of the carrier frame 403 of the trailer 1 according to the invention is provided to receive two carriages 3 side by side, each equipped with a marine motorbike 2, the outer wheels 32 of the two carriages 3 when loaded and stowed on the trailer 1 being substantially aligned with the wheels 12 of the trailer 1 which determine the maximum wheelbase of the assembly thus formed.
According to another characteristic of the invention, due to the rear overhang arrangement of the carriages 3 on the trailer 1 in the transport position, provision is made to place the signaling and lighting plates 46 on an arm 47 articulated in the horizontal plane of the chassis 4 of the trailer 1 to each of the side members 401, 402 of the trailer at a rear point said longitudinal members such that it is possible to release in the horizontal plane the same plates at the time of loading or unloading of the carriage 3 (as shown in the upper part of FIG. 2) but also to arrange the plates 46 in the regulatory position for the transport requiring the arm 47 to bypass the wheels 32 of the carriage 3 overhanging, as shown in the lower part of FIG. 2.
II sera maintenant décrit les opérations de chargement et de déchargement du "quad" et des motos- marines sur la remorque 1 conformément à 1 ' invention :In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, all the constituent elements of the chassis of the trailer and of the trolley (s) obtained in 2mm thick tube with rectangular section, the trunk and the tracks supporting the "quad" as well that their access ramp are made of stainless steel. The loading and unloading operations of the “quad” and of the watercraft on the trailer 1 will now be described in accordance with the invention:
As regards first of all the "quad", it is loaded and unloaded crosswise on the trailer 1 thanks to the ramps 7 and 8 giving direct access to the rolling tracks 5,6 arranged as we said advantageously on the drawbar at the front of the trailer; it will be observed that the "quad" thus transported makes it possible at the place of use to transport the watercraft separately on their trolleys 3 between the parking place and a beach or a body of water which may be relatively distant.
Une fois chaque moto-marine 2 chargée sur son chariot 3 et dégagée de l'eau et éventuellement ramenée par le "quad" sur le lieu de stationnement de la remorque, on procède au chargement de l'ensemble chariot 3/moto-marine 2 sur la remorque 1 de la manière qui suit en référence à la figure 1.To this end, the trolleys 3 according to the invention are advantageously used to put watercraft in the water or remove them by bringing the trolley (s) near the banks or at the edge of the beach so that each motorbike -Marine is pulled along the axis of a carriage 3, from the rear to the front to load it and vice versa to put it in the water. All of these maneuvers are facilitated by the use of the winch 42 allowing the motor-marine to slide on the parallel bars 38, 39 with curved access until coming to bear before on the buffer 40 for _loading, or by rear on the curved profile of the bars 38.39 to slide in the water when unloading. Once each motor-marine 2 loaded on its trolley 3 and released from the water and possibly brought back by the "quad" on the place of parking of the trailer, one proceeds to the loading of the whole trolley 3 / motor-marine 2 on trailer 1 as follows with reference to Figure 1.
Les crochets inférieurs et latéraux 44,45 venant progressivement et respectivement au droit du rouleau 23We draw the drawbar 20 of the carriage 3 to bring it into contact with the roller 23 (or possibly the rear crossmember 15 of the trailer if there is no roller 23); at this time, the cable of the winch 42 is passed over a roller or the like fixed on the front or intermediate crosspiece 16 and the end of the cable is hooked to the pulling ring of the motor-boat so as to constitute a hoist for towing the cart / motor-boat assembly from rear to front on the carrier frame 403 of the trailer. The roller 23 facilitates the progressive rise of the carriage, in particular at the moment when its wheels 32 start to take off from the ground in order to come gradually to bear on the rear crossmember 15 of the trailer which is then in the inclined position shown in dashed lines in FIG. 1 The lower and lateral hooks 44,45 coming progressively and respectively to the right of the roller 23
Dans cette position du chariot qui correspond à la représentation en traits pleins de la figure 1, il suffit alors de rabattre le bras 47 portant les plaques d'éclairage et de signalisation 46 autour des roues 32 du chariot 3, pour qu'il vienne s ' encliqueter sur un clip 48 (figure 2) prévu à cet effet sur la face externe du longeron 33 du chariot et assurer son maintien en position de transport.(or failing that of the rear cross member 15) and of the hollow rear end of the spar 41, in order to be finally engaged therein when the coupling of the fork box 19 of the carriage 3 is just below the ball 18 of coupling of the trailer 1 which it is finally enough to engage for the final stowage. The winch cable, the end of which is fixed to the pulling ring at the front of the marine motorbike 2, incidentally serving as a retaining cable by an anti-return blocking of the winch 42; a simple strap which can advantageously complete the general attachment of the watercraft 2 to the carriage 3. In this position of the carriage which corresponds to the representation in solid lines of FIG. 1, it then suffices to fold down the arm 47 carrying the plates lighting and signaling 46 around the wheels 32 of the carriage 3, so that it snaps onto a clip 48 (FIG. 2) provided for this purpose on the external face of the side member 33 of the carriage and ensuring its maintenance in the transport position.
It goes without saying that for the unloading of watercraft, it suffices to proceed in reverse after having released the arms 47 carrying the plates.
Thus constituted, the road unit is remarkable for its dimensions compatible with road standards thanks to the cantilevering of the two deported carriages at the rear of the trailer and also remarkable for its exceptional lightness due to a very simplified structure, nevertheless compatible with all the safety regulations dictated by the European Community concerning trailers of this nature; finally, it will be observed that such a trailer is particularly advantageous in that it makes it possible to lower the center of gravity of the transported load as much as possible, due to the cantilevering of the carriages as has been said with the consequence considerably increase handling and therefore safety during transport.
