Abstract

The invention provides oil-sorbent compositions for clearing oil-spillages on land or on water. A composition according to the invention comprises a natural or synthetic particulate hydrophobic sorbent solid, preferably dried sphagnum moss, in admixture with an effective amount of an oil-digesting micro-organism, a nutrient for the micro-organism and water-soluble polymer.
