Abstract

L'invention concerne un système informatique comprenant, d'une part, une application hôte permettant d'éditer un document et, d'autre part, une application de conversion. L'application de conversion comprend une classe fonctionnant en dehors de cette application. La classe permet de convertir une valeur numérique d'une première unité de mesure en une valeur numérique correspondant à une seconde unité de mesure par référence à une relation de conversion stockée entre la première unité de mesure et la seconde unité de mesure. L'invention concerne également une interface conçue pour interagir avec l'application hôte afin de : i) trouver dans le document la présence de toute valeur numérique provenant de la première unité de mesure ; ii) présenter chacune de ces valeurs à la classe en vue d'une conversion en une valeur numérique correspondante provenant de la seconde unité de mesure ; iii) recevoir la valeur numérique correspondante provenant de la seconde unité de mesure transmise par la classe; et iv) insérer dans le document la valeur numérique correspondante provenant de la seconde unité de mesure, par remplacement de la valeur originale et de son unité de mesure par la valeur numérique correspondante, ou par ajout de la valeur numérique correspondante à la valeur originale et à son unité de mesure.
