Abstract

La présente invention concerne un appareil et un procédé non-invasif de détection optique de la concentration de glucose dans une solution. Le détecteur optique de glucose est basé sur le fait que les solutions de glucose présentent un effet rotatoire optique magnétique (MORE) de sorte que lorsqu'un champ magnétique est établi dans une solution de glucose il se produit une rotation du vecteur de polarisation de la lumière incidente qui est proportionnelle à la longueur de la trajectoire, de la force de champ magnétique, et de la concentration de glucose dans la solution. Le détecteur optique de glucose comprend un laser qui fait circuler un faisceau de lumière polarisée à travers la solution de glucose (i. e. une humeur aqueuse ou un oeil) tandis qu'une bobine établit un champ magnétique (B) dans la solution. Un tube photomultiplicateur fournit un signal de sortie indiquant la rotation du vecteur de polarisation de la lumière incidente. Le faisceau de lumière est également modulé par un rotateur de Faraday, qui est commandé par un amplificateur synchrone fermant une boucle de réaction.
