While in the receiving mode of operation, vehicle based transceiver 45 receives the transmitted identification code transmitted by remote fob transceiver 20 also operating in a receiving mode. Subsequently, a processor 50 within vehicle based transceiver 45 tests the validity of the transmitted identification code as received. If the transmitted identification code is deemed valid, processor 50 initiates the selected vehicle function.

  • remote fob transceiver 20 is preferably coupled with vehicle based transceiver 45 by means of a radio frequency link.

Abstract

Cette invention a trait à un dispositif permettant de mettre en route à distance une fonction, lequel dispositif comporte un premier émetteur-récepteur (20) qui, en mode émission, envoie un code d'identification stocké en mémoire (25). Ce premier émetteur-récepteur a en mémoire, à l'origine, un premier code d'identification. En mode reprogrammation, cet émetteur-récepteur (20) reçoit un nouveau code d'identification qu'il stocke en mémoire (25). Ce dispositif comporte, de surcroît, un second émetteur-récepteur (45) qui, en mode réception, reçoit le code d'identification mémorisé émis, vérifie sa validité et met en route la fonction si le code d'identification transmis est recevable. En mode reprogrammation, ce second émetteur-récepteur (45) transmet le nouveau code d'identification et le stocke dans la mémoire (25) du premier émetteur-récepteur afin de reprogrammer celui-ci (20).
