Abstract

L'invention concerne des protéines exprimées à partir des gènes protéiques de prion de tous les hommes et animaux, ou 'prionines', contre lesquelles on peut préparer des réactifs servant à établir un diagnostic présymptomatique précis, aux fins de détection de l'encéphalopathie spongiforme transmissible latente, de la contamination par cette maladie des aliments, du sang et des produits sanguins, et aux fins de traitement thérapeutique de l'encéphalopathie spongiforme bovine de la vache, de la tremblante du mouton et de la maladie de Creutzfeld-Jakob chez l'homme.
