Abstract

L'invention concerne un système de gestion des appels permettant de choisir l'entreprise de télécommunication optimale pour les appels téléphoniques d'un utilisateur. Le système peut être mis en interface avec un commutateur privé ou avec des lignes téléphoniques analogiques ordinaires. Il intercepte les chiffres composés par l'appelant ou l'utilisateur et détermine une voie d'acheminement optimale pour l'appel sur la base d'une pluralité de paramètres. La voie d'acheminement optimale comprend une entreprise de télécommunication particulière qui doit remettre l'appel. Le système compose ensuite le préfixe de l'entreprise, puis remet à la ligne téléphonique les chiffres de l'appelant composés à l'origine par l'utilisateur. Un serveur de données construit une table de sélection d'entreprises de télécommunication optimisée pour l'emplacement de l'utilisateur, ses habitudes d'appel, ses préférences, ses données personnelles, etc. La table de sélection d'entreprises est téléchargée via un réseau de télécommunication vers un ordinateur local. Dans l'un des modes de réalisation, ce dernier reçoit d'une ou de plusieurs unités lignes les signaux de progression de l'appel et les chiffres composés par l'utilisateur. Il détermine la voie d'acheminement optimale en utilisant la base de données de sélection d'entreprises, puis passe à l'unité ligne le préfixe d'appel et la chaîne de destination. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, il exécute également les fonctions de l'unité ligne via un modem connecté. Au moyen du modem, il intercepte les chiffres de numérotation, détermine la voie d'acheminement optimale, remet l'appel, surveille la ligne à la recherche de signaux de progression et enregistre le moment de début et de fin de l'appel. Dans le cas où le modem ne peut pas détecter les signaux de progression d'appel, l'ordinateur local utilise des techniques de traitement des signaux numériques afin de détecter les tonalités.
