Abstract

Cette invention porte sur des adsorbants composites pouvant être filtrés et comprenant un ou plusieurs composants adsorbants et un ou plusieurs composants filtrants, sur leurs procédés de préparation et d'utilisation. Cette invention porte plus particulièrement sur des adsorbants composites pouvant être filtrés et sur des produits de ceux-ci appropriés pour être utilisés dans des applications de filtration. Ces adsorbants et leurs produits comprennent un ou plusieurs composants adsorbants microparticulaires ou colloïdaux sélectionnés dans le groupe constitué par un gel de silice, une silice sublimée, de l'argile neutre, de l'argile alcaline, une zéolite, un catalyseur solide, une alumine, un polymère adsorbant, un hydrate de silicate alcalino-terreux et des combinaisons de ceux-ci, tous ces composants possédant des propriétés d'adsorption, et étant intimement liés à un ou plusieurs composants filtrants fonctionnels sélectionnés dans le groupe constitué par une silice biogène, un verre naturel (tels que la perlite expansée, la pierre ponce, la pierre ponce expansée, la pumicite, l'obsidienne expansée, la cendre volcanique expansée), un verre flotté, un polymère flotté, une cellulose et des combinaisons de ceux-ci, ces composants présentant une structure particulière, complexe et poreuse, et une flottabilité appropriée à la filtration.
