These plates provide an indented imprint of biological specimens; such as butterflies, seahorses,or plant life, and the application for this invention refers to any and all biological specimens encompassed by U.S. patent 3,298,881.

Abstract

Procédé de transfert de spécimens biologiques sur du cuir à l'aide d'une seule plaque spécifique telle que décrite dans le brevet U.S. 3,298,881, qui consiste à mouiller une partie choisie d'un cuir avec de l'eau et à appliquer la face lisse du cuir mouillé sur les empreintes biologiques moulées fournies par la plaque susmentionnée. Ensuite, à l'aide d'une presse qui applique une pression égale sur l'intégralité de la surface de ladite plaque et du cuir, on transfère une image du spécimen biologique sur le cuir lui-même. On fait ensuite sécher le cuir, ce qui fixe l'image transférée, et on applique ensuite des pigments ou de la teinture sur le cuir pour faire ressortir les détails multiples de l'image des spécimens biologiques, ce qui crée une image de spécimen souple en trois dimensions destinée à des fins scientifiques ou autres.
