Definitions
- the present invention relates to a toothbrush according to the preamble of claim 1.
- FR-A-2 548 528 describes a toothbrush of this type, in which the brush heads are arranged side by side.
- the bristles of the two brush heads are arranged and directed towards each other so that when the toothbrush is used, the inside and the outside of the teeth are cleaned at the same time.
- the parallel supports for the brush heads can be spread apart. When cleaning the teeth during the movement along the row of teeth, this enables the distance between the brush heads to be adapted to the changing thickness of the teeth.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a toothbrush of the type mentioned, with which a better cleaning effect can be achieved.

- Toothbrush in a fourth embodiment shows the toothbrush part according to FIG. 14 in a top view.
- a toothbrush 1 has a handle 2 and two carriers 3, 4 connected to it, which are each provided with a brush head 5, 6 on their free end 3 'or 4' facing away from the handle 2 .
- the carrier 3, 4 and the handle 2 are integrally formed.
- the carriers 3, 4 extend essentially parallel to one another and to a toothbrush longitudinal axis 1 a.
- the carriers 3, 4 arranged on both sides of the toothbrush longitudinal axis la are designed and angled such that the brush heads 5, 6 attached to them are arranged one behind the other in the direction of the toothbrush longitudinal axis la.
- Each bristle head 5, 6 consists of a bristle carrier 10, from which bristles protrude, which are combined to form bristle tufts 11.
- the bristles are anchored in the bristle carrier 10 at one end, the free-standing ends of the bristles form a burst surface 12.
- the base surfaces of the bristle carriers 10 are designated by 13 in FIG. 1.
- the axes of the brush heads 5, 6 running at right angles to the respective base surface 13 are designated 5a, 6a in FIGS. 1 and 3.
- the axes 5a, 6a and the toothbrush longitudinal axis la are preferably in a common plane E, as can be seen in FIG.
- the base surfaces 13 and thus also the axes 5a, 6a of the two brush heads 5, 6 are inclined towards one another by a small angle (preferably between 2 ° and 10 °) in such a way that the axes 5a, 6a m as shown in FIG above-mentioned level E converge above.
- This curvature results in a better adaptation of the cleaning-effective total burst surfaces to the rounding of the teeth, whereby the interdental spaces and the gum line can also be cleaned better.
- the carriers 3, 4 are designed such that the two brush heads 5, 6 are offset from one another in the rest position, and the brush head 5 facing the handle 2 protrudes from the other brush head 6.
- Fig. 2 shows a toothbrush 1 ', which corresponds essentially to that of FIG. 1; In this variant, however, the two brush heads 5, 6 are arranged approximately in one plane in the rest position.
- the two carriers 3, 4 are designed resiliently sch and when using the toothbrush, d. H. when force is applied in the direction of arrow S, it can be elastically pushed back in this direction.
- the force 3 in the direction of the arrow S is first pushed back against the brush surface 12 of the brush head 5 of the carrier 3 before the force against the burst surface 12 of the other brush head 6 and thus also that Pushing back the other carrier 4 is done. Then the two carriers 3, 4 can be pushed back further together (the brush head 5 is in contact with the carrier 4 of the brush head 6); but it can also be pushed back only the brush head 6 facing away from the handle 2 with the carrier 4volue.
- both brush heads 5, 6 or both carriers 3, 4 are immediately pushed back together, or only the carrier 4 with the brush head 6 facing away from the handle 2 can be pushed back alone.
- the elastic deflectability of the carriers 3, 4 prevents the application of excessive pressure when cleaning the teeth. Due to the individual springing, when the toothbrush is used, better contact and optimal contact pressure of the brush surfaces, which are effective for cleaning, are achieved, whereby a more flexible adaptation to the shape of the individual teeth and to the shape of the teeth or the rounding of the teeth is ensured.
- Fig. 3 round brush heads 5, 6 are shown with cylindrical tufts 11.
- the brush heads can have other shapes; 4 to 7 show some further exemplary embodiments.
- a bristle head 6 is round and equipped with a cylindrical bristle field.
- the other bristle head 17 is essentially rectangular in plan view, its bristle tuft partially surrounding the round bristle tuft 11 of the bristle head 6 with a lateral, concavely curved surface 18.
- FIG. 6 shows two brush heads 20, 21, the bristle fields of which are mirror images of a plane 1b perpendicular to the toothbrush longitudinal axis la and have a substantially trapezoidal shape in plan view, the longer parallel sides of the two trapezoids facing one another.
- the bristle fields of the bristle heads 24, 25 shown in FIG. 7 are of a similar design, with the difference that the sides of the two bristle fields facing away from one another are semicircular, so that an essentially oval total burst area is created. In all versions, the total brush area corresponds in size to the brush area of conventional toothbrushes.
- the brush heads in such a way that the bristle holders 10 together with the bristles can be exchanged in a manner known per se and therefore not described in detail.
- the bristle holder 10 with the used bristles can thus be exchanged for the bristle holder 10 with new bristles without the entire toothbrush having to be thrown away.
- concavely curved brush surfaces 12 ' can also be used in all embodiments of the brush heads, the curvature of which extends in the direction of the toothbrush axis la. This measure results in an even better adaptation to the individual shape of the individual teeth; the bristle ends can penetrate the interdental spaces even better.
- a handle 32 with two carriers 33, 34 are connected, which are formed so that at their free ends 33', 34 'arranged brush heads 35, 36 are arranged one behind the other in the direction of the toothbrush longitudinal axis la.
- the carriers 33, 34 have a shape which is elongated in cross section and are oriented such that the cross-sectional longitudinal axes 33a, 34a each include an angle ⁇ with the plane E running through the toothbrush longitudinal axis la; the carriers 33, 34 are arranged symmetrically to the plane E.
- the angle ⁇ can preferably be 45 °.
- the brush heads 35, 36 arranged on the resilient supports 33, 34 are not only elastically deflected in this direction of arrow A, but also laterally in direction of arrows D and E according to FIG. 11 .
- This lateral movement of the brush heads 35, 36 even at low pressure is particularly advantageous for reaching and cleaning the interdental spaces.
- the carriers 3, 4 are designed such that the two brush heads 5, 6 and the two carriers 3, 4 can be deflected without being influenced by one another.
- the support 4 which receives the brush head 6 facing away from the handle is provided with a curvature 4a which is adapted to the outline shape of the handle-side brush head 5 and surrounds it.
- the brush head 5 on the handle side can thus be deflected without hindrance without also carrying the carrier 4 with it.
- a greater force is required to deflect the brush head 5 (in the case of supports 3, 4 with the same profile) than to deflect the brush head 6, since the lever arm assigned to the brush head 5 is shorter than the lever arm of the brush head 6.
- the brush head 6 facing away from the handle can also protrude from the other in the rest position, as shown in FIG. 14, and can be pushed back in use first.
- the arrangement corresponding to FIG. 1 or FIG. 2 would be possible.
- both brush heads 35, 36 could be arranged in the rest position about n of the same plane or offset in the direction A of the intended force.
- the carrier 33 for the brush head 36 facing away from the handle 2 in such a way that, analogously to the variant shown in FIGS. 14 and 15, both carriers 33, 34 could be deflected individually, independently of one another.
- the bristle tufts 11 in turn could have a different shape and unevenly high bristles.
