Abstract

A fixing device for fixing toner images on a strip substrate (12) in a printer or copier with a thermo-fixing region having a fixing roller (10, 11) and a guide yoke (13) upstream of the thermo-fixing region in the direction of travel of the substrate which can be pivoted as desired and which has a deflector edge (15) at its end facing the thermo-fixing region via which the substrate (12) is taken to the thermo-fixing region. Da die Papierbahn 12 bereits auf ihrer Rückseite ein fixiertes Tonerbild tragen kann, ist der Führungssattel 13 unbeheizt. Vor dem eigentlichen Durchlauf durch den Fi¬ xierspalt wird die Papierbahn 13 mit dem zu fixierenden Tonerbild zum Vorheizen in einem Umschlingungswinkel um die Fixierwalze 10 geführt. Dabei gleitet die Papierbahn 12 zu¬ nächst über eine polierte, gegebenenfalls mit PTFE beschich¬ tete Gleitfläche 14 des aus Stahl bestehenden Führungssattels 13, und wird im Bereich einer Umlenkkante 15 umgelenkt. Aus Gründen der Umschlingungsgeometrie, und um eine exakte Füh¬ rung der Papierbahn 12 zu gewährleisten, ist der Führungssat¬ tel 13 im Auslaufbereich leicht geknickt, so daß die Papier- bahn 12 der Umlenkkante 15 geradlinig und laufberuhigt zuge¬ führt wird. Die Umlenkkante 15 besteht bei dem dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel aus einer sich über die Breite deε Füh¬ rungssattels 13 erstreckenden Stahlwelle 16 mit nitrierter, gehärteter Oberfläche mit einem Durchmesser von 10mm. Sie ist über eine Halterung 17 auswechselbar in einer paßgenauen Auf- nahmenut 18 im Auεlaufbereich des Führungssatteis 13 angeord¬ net.
