Definitions
- the invention relates to a modular seat orthotic system.
- Such systems can be mounted on wheelchairs using a mounting adapter.
- a one-piece seat shell is used, which ensures only a limited fit. Body size differences can only be compensated for by using thick or thin pads. Cavities in relation to the patient's body must be filled with soft foam if necessary. The dimensions of the outer shell are usually specified. If the GRP outer shell is changed, it loses stability. The reworking of the seat shell to improve the accuracy of fit is therefore not only complex and therefore expensive, but can only be carried out separately from the patient, who therefore sometimes has to do without this shell for several weeks.
- the object of the invention is to improve the adaptability of the modular seat orthotic system.
- the center column is composed of a seat frame which is detachably connected at one end to a back frame and at the other end to its lower leg frame;
- a strip-shaped seat shell middle part is fastened, which - based on a patient - extends approximately from the base of the neck to the area of the hollow of the knee; d) on both sides of the middle part of the seat shell and mirrored to this, individual thorax, pelvic and thigh pads are attached to the central column;
- each of these pads can be moved and fixed independently of the other pads both transversely to the center column and in the longitudinal direction of the frame.
- the seat frame and the back frame each have a flat one
- Box profile is formed, the cavity of which is divided by two longitudinal webs into three adjacent hollow chambers running in the longitudinal direction of the profile.
- the lower leg frame can also be formed by a corresponding box profile.
- connection between the seat and lower leg frame consists of a knee angle piece which is inserted with plug pins in hollow chambers of the associated profile ends.
- a first possibility of adaptation can be achieved according to the invention by interchangeable knee elbows with different knee angles or a manually fixable and releasable knee hinge joint.
- a further adaptation is made possible according to the invention by interchangeable hip angle pieces with different hip angles or a hip hinge joint which can be locked and released manually.
- the lower leg frame is longitudinally divided into two adjacent profiles which are adjustable relative to one another at the knee angle. Due to the different knee angle settings, individual adjustment to, for example, only one stiffened knee is possible. To compensate for different leg lengths, two separate foot plates can be attached to the two profiles mentioned at different heights. In order to enable simple adjustment of the individual pads in the longitudinal direction of the profile, it is expedient if the side walls of the box profiles forming the central column have longitudinal slots running in the longitudinal direction of the profile for fastening the pads.
- each pad is attached to a bracket which can be fixed with its free end to a holding piece which is longitudinally displaceable and which is located on the associated side wall of the Supports the central column.
- a bracket which can be fixed with its free end to a holding piece which is longitudinally displaceable and which is located on the associated side wall of the Supports the central column.
- simple handling is ensured if each holding piece is screwed to a pressure piece which can be displaced in the associated hollow profile chamber by means of a knurled screw inserted through the associated longitudinal profile slot.
- the seat orthotic system according to the invention can be used in all patients in whom adequate seat stability can no longer be guaranteed under its own power.
- the modular system ensures the best possible variation in the selection and in the composition of the components with patient-friendly care.
- the new system can be individually adapted to the degree of disability of the patient. Changes or corrections can be carried out directly and directly on the patient, and in a short time.
- the pads can be used with different types of padding, e.g. a composite foam pad, replaceable.
