Abstract

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
COSMETIC PENCIL
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a cosmetic pencil. More particularly, the present invention relates to a cosmetic pencil that includes a body containing a first longitudinally disposed channel extending a portion of the body and having a diameter and a second longUiidinally disposed channel collinearly positioned with the first longitudinally disposed channel extending the remaining portion of the body and having a diameter greater than that of the first longitudinally disposed channel, a liner crayon disposed in the first longitudinally disposed channel with a diameter equal to that of the first longitudinally disposed channel, and a blender crayon disposed in the second longitudinally disposed channel with a diameter equal to that of the second longitudinally disposed channel.
Description of the Prior Art
Numerous innovations for cosmetic pencils have been provided in the prior art that will be described. However, even though these innovations may be suitable for the specific individual purposes to which they address, they differ from the present invention in that they do not teach a cosmetic pencil that includes a body containing a first longitudinally disposed channel extending a portion of the body and having a diameter and a second longitudinally disposed channel collinearly positioned with the first longitudinally disposed channel extending the remaining portion of the body and having a diameter different than that of the first longitudinally disposed channel, a liner crayon disposed in the first longitudinally disposed channel with a diameter equal to that of the first longitudinally disposed channel, and a blender crayon disposed in the second longitudinally disposed channel with a diameter equal to that of the second longitudinally disposed channel.
FOR EX4AMPLE, U.S. Patent No. Des. 243,886 to Rho teaches the ornamental design for a cosmetic pencil or the like.
4ANOTHER EXAMPLE, US. Patent No. Des. 260,559 to Scalice teaches the ornamental design for a combined cosmetic pencil and brush.
STILL 4ANOTHER EX4AMPLE, U.S. Patent No. 37,360 to Reckendorfer teaches a wood-cased black lead pencil, having different grades of hardness at the opposite ends, and indicating on its exterior the character and the amount remaining of each grade.
YET 4ANOTHER EX4AMPLE, U.S. Patent No.264,564 to Reckendorfer teaches a lead pencil in which the blending along the line between colors has been eliminated and which there is a sharply defined line of separation between the blue and red or between other different colors.
STILL YET 4ANOTHER EX.AMPLE, U.S. Patent No. 2,130,011 to Herginhod teaches a multi¬ color-pencil in which the individual leads of different colors and sizes are arranged concentrically in such a manner that the leads of smaller diameter are shiftably mounted in leads of different color and larger diameter. The leads of larger diameter have a longitudinal bore in which the leads of smaller diameter are movably fitted. Thus the leads of smaller diameter are surrounded by the leads of larger diameter. Additionally, the inner smaller leads project slightly from the outer leads. If the inner leads are pushed inwards they disappear in the outer larger leads.
YET STILL .ANOTHER EXAMPLE, U.S. Patent No. 4,413,921 to Fotiu, et al. teaches a cosmetic pencil capable of being sharpened in a pencil sharpener. The pencil has a cosmetic core and a casing comprising a homogeneous blend of materials including a major portion of polyethylene whose density is in the range of between about 0.88 g/cc and 0.99 g/cc, a hardness in the rage of between about 35-70 as measured by ASTM D-2240, and a softening point above 60° C.
STILL YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE, U.S. Patent No. 4,714,085 to von Kleinsorgen teaches a cosmetic stick for a powder pencil for directly applying powder to the skin. As shown in FIGURES 1 and 2, the stick comprises a stable stick body formed from bound base powder components, pigment, and, an optional binding agent and adhesion agent The stick body is formed from at least two stick body portions which are joined together over the length of the stick and which differ in composition from each other.
FINELY, 4ANOTHER EX4AMPLE , U.S. Patent No. 4,987,911 to Powers teaches a cosmetic pencil capable of advancing a soft cosmetic mass a short predetermined distance. The pencil has a lower barrel which includes a gripping disk stop. A hollow sheath member is held in the lower barrel and has an outwardly facing cam surface. A holding tube is rotatably inserted into the lower barrel and surrounds the sheath member. The holding tube also has a cam surface, and a spring member and gripping disk surround a push rod which extends into the center portion of the sheath which holds the soft cosmetic mass. Turαing the holding tube forces the sheath inwardly, and the gripping disk holds the push rod steady with respect to the lower barrel and, thus, a small amount of cosmetic mass is moved upwardly by the movement of the sheath with respect to the push rod.
It is apparent that numerous innovations for cosmetic pencils have been provided in the prior art that are adapted to be used. Furthermore, even though these innovations may be suitable for the specific individual purposes to which they address, they would not be suitable for the purposes of the present invention as heretofore described.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
ACCORDINGLY, AN OBJECT of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic pencil that avoids the disadvantages of the prior art.
.ANOTHER OBJECT of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic pencil that is simple and inexpensive to manufacture.
STILL .ANOTHER OBJECT of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic pencil that is simple to use.
BRIEFLY STATED, YET ANOTHER OBJECT of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic pencil that includes a cylindrical body, a liner crayon, and a blender/concealer crayon.
STILL YET 4ANOTHER OBJECT of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic pencil wherein the cylindrical body contains a first internal longitudinally disposed channel that extends a portion of the body and has a diameter.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
Referring now to the figures in which like numbers indicate like parts and particularly to FIGURES 3 through 5, the cosmetic pencil of the present invention is shown generally at 10 and includes a cylindrical barrel 12 that has a cylindrical barrel first tapered end 14 and a cylindrical barrel second tapered end 20. The cylindrical barrel 12 contains an internal longitudinally disposed cylindrical barrel channel 13 that includes a cylindrical barrel channel first portion 13A that extends a part of the length of the cylindrical barrel 12 and a cylindrical barrel channel second portion 13B that extends the remaining part of the length of the cylindrical barrel 12. The cylindrical barrel channel second portion 13B has a diameter that is greater than that of the cylindrical barrel channel first portion 13A.
A liner crayon 16 is disposed in the cylindrical barrel channel first portion 13A and has a diameter equal to that of the cylindrical barrel channel first portion 13A and occupies it entirely. The liner crayon tapered distal end 16A extends smoothly with the cylindrical barrel channel first tapered end 14.

While the invention lias been illustrated and described as embodied in a cosmetic pencil, it is not intended to be limited to the details shown, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
Without further analysis, the foregoing will so fully reveal the gist of the present invention that others can, by applying current knowledge, readily adapt it for various appUcations without omitting features that, from the standpoint of prior art, fairly constitute characteristics of the generic or specific aspects of this invention.
What is claimed as new and desired to be protected by Letters Patent is set forth in the appended claims.
Claims
Claim:
1. A cosmetic pencU, comprising:
a) a cylindrical body containing a first internal longitudinaUy disposed channel extending a portion of said cyUndrical body and having a diameter, said cylindrical body further containing a second internal longitudinally disposed channel collinearly positioned with said first longitudinaUy disposed channel and extending the remaining portion of said cylindrical body, said internal longitudinaUy disposed channel having a diameter greater than said diameter of said first longitudinally disposed channel;
b) a liner crayon occupying the entire said first longitudinally disposed channel; and
c) a blender crayon occupying the entire said second longitudinaUy disposed channel.

2. The pencil as defined in claim 1 , wherein said cylindrical body has a cylindrical body first tapered end and a body second tapered end.
3. The pencil as defined in claim 2, wherein said liner crayon has a liner crayon tapered distal end that extends smoothly with said body first tapered end.

The pencU as defined in claim 3, wherein said liner crayon contains ingredients selected from a group consisting of CTFA, Hydrogenated Coco-Glyceride, Hydrogenated Tallow, Polyethylene, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, MicrocrystalUne Wax, Hydroxylated Lanolin, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Qtric Acid, BHT, Retinyl Palmitate, and iron oxides.
5. The pentil as defined in claim 1, wherein said blender crayon has a blender crayon tapered distal end that extends smoothly with said body second tapered end.
6. The crayon as defined in claim 5, wherein said blender crayon has a blender crayon proximal end and said liner crayon has a liner crayon proximal end that abuts said liner crayon proximal end.

The pencil as defined in claim 6, wherein said blender crayon contains ingredients selected from a group consisting of Hydrogenated Coco-Glyceride, Isopropyl Lanolate, Com Starch, Ozokerite, Myristyl Lactate, Synthetic Japan Wax, Polyethylene, Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil, Polysorbate 60, Calcium siUcate, Sorbitan Stearate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, BHT, Talc, Butylparaben, Qtric Acid, Bismuth Oxychloride, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, and Ultramarine Pink.

The pencil as defined in claim 3; further comprising a first point protector cover cap that has a first point protector cover cap hoUow cylindrical body with a first point protector cover cap closed end and a first point protector cover cap open end which can be sUpped over said body first tapered end so as to protect said liner crayon tapered distal end when said liner crayon is not in use.
9. The pencU as defined in claim 8, wherein said first point protector cover cap is clear plastic.
10. The pencil as defined in claim 6; further comprising a second point protector cover cap that has a second point protector cover cap hoUow cyUndrical body with a second point protector cover cap closed end and a second point protector cover cap open end which can be slipped over said body second tapered end to protect said blender crayon tapered distal end when said blender crayon is not in use.
11. The pencU as defined in claim 1 ; further comprising a ledge disposed where said body channel first portion and said body channel second portion meet.

12. A method of using a cosmetic pencil, comprising the steps of:
a) Uning from outside corner of the eye to the center of the top and bottom lash lines using a liner crayon tapered distal end;
b) smudge said Uning in towards the inside comer of the upper and lower lids using the tip of a brush;
c) brushing said smudge out and up into die natural crease of said eye under the brow bone using said tip of said brush;
d) applying blender to the center of the upper Ud and the brow bone using a blender/concealer end of said cosmetic pencil;
e) applying concealer to the lower lash line using the blender/concealer end of said cosmetic pencU;
f) blending said upper Ud blended area using the flat surface of a sponge; and
g) feathering out said concealed area below said lower lash line to said end of said brow using the tip of said sponge.

14. A method of making a cosmetic pencil, comprising die steps of:
a) machining a body from incense cedaπ
b) molding a blender/concealer crayon;
c) extruding a liner crayon; and
d) molding a first point protector cover cap and a second point protector cover cap.
15. The method as defined in claim 14 wherein said step of machining a body from incense cedar includes machining said body to a length of 5.125", a diameter of .405", and is lacquered wiu matte purple.
16. The method as defined in claim 14, wherein said step of molding a blender/concealer crayon includes molding said blender/concealer crayon with a diameter of .205".
17. The method as defined in claim 14, wherein said step of extruding a liner crayon includes extruding said liner crayon with a diameter of .162".
18. The method as defined in claim 14; further comprising the step of imprinting a direct style onto said body.
19. The method as defined in claim 14, wherein said step of molding a first point protector cover cap and a second point protector cover cap includes molding a first point protector cover cap and a second point protector cover cap from clear plastic.
