Abstract

Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment (1) comprising two opposite substantially parallelepiped shells (2, 3) of the same size, having as base one of the two smaller faces, hinged to one another on the edge of a vertical side and forming in their inside a plurality of spaces, shelves and drawers of different size and/or configuration. In correspondence of at least one of said spaces, cabinet (1) is provided with a panel for its full or partial front closing, hinged in the front end portion of the vertical side wall of shell (2 and/or 3), on the inner front of the same. One (2) of said shells is provided with a space (12) having a reversed-L profile, the other one (3) is provided with an L-shaped space (29) of limited width in its upper part (29'). Said spaces (12, 29) develop starting from the base of shells (2 and/or 3).

Description

DESCRIPTION TR-ANSPORTABLE CABINET ESPECIALLY SUITABLE FOR GOLF EQUIPMENT This invention relates to a transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment.

TECHNICAL FIELD More particularly, this invention relates to a cabinet as described above, containing in in its inside a plurality of spaces, shelves and drawers so arranged as to house clothings, clubs, shoes and any specific golf equipment.

BACKGROUND ART As is known, to practice some sports, it is necessary to utilize equipments expensive and bulky. In the case of golf, said equipment consists of particular clothings, special shoes or boots, different according to the condition of the green, ₄of a high number of clubs or balls, in order to perform the shots in the most different play conditions, a plurality of small important game instruments, such as, for instance, the tees or the disk signalling the position of the ball on the ground. All this involves the necessity of transporting to the green a large amount of material each time the course changes. Sports- clubs are provided with personal lockers to contain this material, but their conformation is of a traditional type, i.e. it is not designed to contain, for instance, the clubs that require a special dedicated space. Therefore, said lockers lack the specific functionality characteristics as concerns their internal arrangement; besides, they are not equipped externally to be shifted. Players often distribute part of their equipment in this type of lockers, while carrying the rest with themselves, with the ensuing movement difficulty and the risk of leaving behind sometimes part of the equipment necessary for the game. The official golf contests last often for some days in a row, four at the most, so that, taking into account the possible weather changes, it is necessary to take along several clothing items, to play always in the best conditions. Therefore, this increases the already mentioned necessity of taking along a considerable amount of luggages.

DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION Object of this invention is to solve the aforementioned problems. More particularly, object of this invention is to provide a transportable cabinet, especially suitable for golf equipment, allowing to arrange in the inside, in a functional manner, the full range of golf instruments and clothings. A further object of this invention is to provide a transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment, for a personal use, capable of containing said equipment for the most different conditions of the greens. Still a further object of this invention is to provide a tightly shuttable, movable, shiftable and transportable cabinet for golf equipment.

These and other objects specified in the following are achieved by this invention by means of a transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment, comprising two opposite substantially parallelepiped shells of the same size, having as their base one of the two shorter faces, hinged to one another along the edge of a vertical side and forming in the inside a plurality of spaces, characterized in that it has, in correspondence of one at least of said spaces, a panel for their front full or partial closing, hinged in the front end position of the vertical side wall of the shell on the inner front of said wall, said spaces being subdivided from one another by a plurality of partitions complanate with at least a part of the edge.

The cabinet subject matter of this invention may be realized from any suitable material, in particular wood and preferably briarwood.

These and further characteristics of the transportable cabinet subject matter of this invention shall be better expounded by the following detailed description, wherein reference is made to the attached drawings, which represent a preferred embodiment, illustrated by way of non limitative example, wherein:

Fig. 1 is the perspective front view of the transportable cabinet subject matter of this invention in open position; Fig. 2 is the perspective schematic view of the cabinet of Fig. 1 in closed position. With reference to the above figures, the cabinet subject matter of this invention, indicated globally by 1, is represented in two conditions: open and closed. In particular, Fig. 1 shows the internal arrangement of the drawers, shelves, doors and shoe- racks. According to this invention, cabinet 1 is subdivided into two shelves 2, 3 having a substantially parallelepiped form, of the same size, opposite and hinged to one another along a vertical side. Both shelves 2, 3 are provided with spaces, shelves and drawers having different shapes and sizes, so that said shells are not specular.

A shell 2 is divided into two parts by a horizontal wall: an upper part and a lower part. The upper part of shell 2 comprises, in the left top, a vertical rectangular space 4, circumscribing substantially an upper half-part of said shell 2, closed by a panel 5, of a height rather smaller than the width of said space 4. Said panel is connected through traditional hinges 6 to the front end of the internal vertical side wall 7 of shell 2, opposite to the hinged one 10. At the upper end of said space 4, one or more clothing hooks 8 are fixed. In the right top, the aforementioned shell 2 is provided with several horizontal shelves 9, arranged in the space between the wall circumscribing space 4 and the vertical side wall 10 of shell 2. Said shelves 9 end at about half the height of said space 4. In the resting space between the wall circumscribing space 4 and the vertical side wall 10, under said shelves 9 several drawers 11 are obtained, superposed and some of which are arranged side by side, of different size and so arranged as to take up the whole space. The lower part of shell 2 comprises, starting from the base of said shell, a further space 12 having a substantially reversed L- shaped profile, whose vertical branch ends in correspondence of drawers 11; on the opposite side, which overlaps the horizontal branch of space 12, a frame forms circumscribing a plurality of rectangular openings 13, some of which are provided with a drawer 14. At the basis of space 12, a plurality of shaped frames 15 is fixed, preferably from metal, aligned and equidistant relatively to one another, formed, by way of example, by a small diameter rod, which shaped frames have a substantially rectangular shape and are provided with connecting crosspieces 16. The upper part of each frame 15 is angularly oriented relatively to the lower one which fits into the base of space 12. Said base is provided with couples of aligned holes wherein the ends of frames 15 are inserted an connected. Besides, space 12 is partly closed by a mobile front rectangular panel 17, connected, by means of traditional hinges, to the inner edge of said space. Said panel, tiltable outwards, is furtherly connected to the sides of shell 2, inside space 12, by means of conventional sliding tie-rods 18. The second shell 3, opposite to the first shell 2, comprises a double-L profile upright 20 sharing the horizontal side, which substantially subdivides the space into parts that are different from one another. In particular, said upright 20 forms, on the left side and at the basis of shell 3, an L-shaped profile space 29, having a limited height in the vertical upper part curcumscribed by the vertical branch 29'.

The top of said branch 29' of space 29 is circumscribed by a horizontal shelf 27, above which and parallelly to which further analogous shelves 28 are provided, connected to the inner vertical side wall 25 of shell 3 and to upright 20 and forming among one another openings 26.

A horizontal shelf 30 adjoins the lower portion of space 29, which shelf is connected on the one side to upright 20 an on the other side to the inner surface of the vertical side wall 24 of shell 3, opposite to the hinged one 25.

Said shelf 30 circumscribes a substantially parallelepiped lower space 31, frontally screened by a panel 32 hinged to the base by means of conventional hinges (not shown) and provided on the upper part with a shaped hollow 33 allowing the grip and movement towards the outside.

Above shelf 30 a further space 19 is obtained, partly closed by a panel 21 connected by means of hinges 22 to the front end of the vertical side wall 24. A mirror 23 is fixed on said panel for part of its width and along all its height.

Fig. 2 shows cabinet 1 in closed position, provided at the base with traditional wheels 34 for the shiftings. Along the closing line 35 of the two shells 2, 3, on the side wall 7 of shell 2, two clamps 36 are placed matching with as many protrusions fixed on the adjoining side wall 24 of shell 3, to allow the closing, while on the opposite vertical side 10, 25 the traditional hinges (not shown) are fixed for the articulation of the shells 2, 3. On the two opposite sides 37, 37', circumscribing the bottom wall of shells 2, 3 in a substantially central position, a substantially V-shaped handle 38 is fastened in each of said sides. A gasket provided along the inner perimeter of the wall of shells 2, 3 assures the tight closing of the same.

The preceding detailed description of the structural characteristics of the cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment subject matter of this invention has already stressed the aforementioned advantages. As mentioned, the equipment contained in the cabinet is generally constituted by rather valuable items; their comfortable and safe arrangement within the shelves protect them from wear and alterations due, for instance, to humidity or dust. The tight perimetral closing contributes to keeping in the best conditions the equipment contained in the cabinet.

In particular, the internal conformation of the shelves, as it is designed, allows a rational arrangement of the clothings and, generally, of. the equipment in the special spaces. For instance, both shelves have L-shaped spaces, located at their base, in a position well fit to house, the one 12 shoes and boots, the other one 29 the traditional bag containing the clubs. Drawers 11 of various size allow to comfortably house the small instruments necessary to play, such as, for instance, balls and tees, besides the traditional clothing items. The two main spaces 4, 19, closed by panels 5, 21 are of different length, allowing to place inside them jackets and possibly raincoats. The other spaces present in various positions in both shelves allow to arrange easily and rationally, according to the individual needs of each player, the rest of the equipment. Once closed, the cabinet does not allow to the equipment contained inside to displace too much, given the non specularity of the shelves in any point. Besides, it is easily transportable, utilizing the handles with the help of the wheels fixed under its base. While the invention has been described with reference to the attached drawings which are an embodiment given by way of example of this invention, it is obvious that many changes and variants may be made falling within the spirit of this invention and the scope of the invention concept.

So, for instance, structural inversions are possible or alternative placings of the components which form altogether the transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment subject matter of this invention. Also possible is the exchange of the structure of a shell for that of the other shell, always respecting the non specularity of both shelves, or the destination of the transportable cabinet for different purposes, not necessarily limited to holding and transporting golf equipment.

Claims

1. Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment (1) , comprising two opposite substantially parallelepiped shelves (2) , (3) , of the same size, having as base one of the two shorter faces, hinged to one another on the edge of a vertical side and forming in their inside a plurality of spaces, characterized in that it has, in correspondence of one at least of said spaces, a panel for its full or partial front closing, hinged in the front end portion of the vertical side wall of shell (2) and/or (3) , on the inner front of the same, said spaces being subdivided from one another by a plurality of partitions complanate to at least a part of the edge.

2. Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the opposite shells (2) , (3) are provided with spaces, shelves and drawers of different size and/or configuration.

3. Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment

(1) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that one

(2) of said shells is provided with a space (12) having a reversed-L profile, while the other one (13) is provided with a L-shaped space (29) of limited length in its upper part (29').

(1) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that said spaces (12) and/or (29) develop starting from the base of shells

(2) and/or (3).

Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment (1) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that each shell is provided with a rectangular space (4) , (19) in correspondence of each upper half-part, each space being closed by a panel (5) , (21) , whose height is slightly smaller than the width of said space, connected to the front end of the internal vertical side wall (7), (24) of each shell (2), (3).

6. Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment (1) according to the preceding claim, characterized in that it has, inside the reversed-L profile space (12) , a plurality of aligned and equidistant shaped frames (15) from metal.

Transportable cabinet for golf equipment (1) according to claim 6, characterized in that said frames (15) have a substantially rectangular shape, are provided with connecting crosspieces (16) , whose upper part is angularly oriented relatively to the lower one which fits into holes obtained on the base of space (12) .

8. Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment (1) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that said panels (21) is partly or fully covered by a mirror (23) .

Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment (1) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that in the upper right portion said shell (2) has several horizontal shelves (9) located in the space existing between space (4) and the vertical side wall (10) , ending at about half the length of space (6) .

10. Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment (1) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that under said shelves (9) several drawers (11) are obtained, superposed or in some cases placed side by side, of different size.

Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment (1) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that space (12) is partly closed by a rectangular panel (17) connected, by means of traditional hinges, to the inner edge of said space (12) , said outwards tiltable panel being also connected to the sides of shell (2) inside space (12) , by means of sliding tie-rods.

Transportable cabinet, especially suitable for golf equipment (1) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that above the horizontal branch of said space (12) a frame is obtained circumscribing a plurality of rectangular openings (13) , some of them being provided with a drawer (14) .

13. Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment (1) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that shell (3) has a double-L profile upright sharing the horizontal side which subdivides its volumetry into parts different from one another.

Transportable cabinet especially suitable for golf equipment (1) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that the top of portion (29') of space (29) is circumscribed by a horizontal shelf (27) , above which other analogous parallel shelves (28) are provided, connected to the inner vertical side wall (25) of shell (3) and upright (20) .

Transportable cabinet, especially suitable for golf equipment (1) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that in the lower part of the mentioned space (19) and in correspondence of the base of shell (3) a substantially parallelepiped space (31) is obtained, provided with a front panel (32) above which a shaped hollow (33) is provided allowing to grip and move towards the outside.

16. Transportable cabinet according to the preceding claims suitable to contain sports equipment and clothing especially suitable for golf.
