Abstract

Dispositif de sondage permettant de procéder à l'ablation de tissus cibles dans le corps d'un patient, qui comporte un ensemble sonde, un système laser, et une source de vide. Ledit ensemble sonde comporte un tube allongé formant un canal d'aspiration et une ouverture d'aspiration proche d'une extrémité. Un orifice d'aspiration est ménagé à proximité de l'autre extrémité du tube. Une fibre optique est attachée au tube de sonde et se termine à proximité de l'ouverture d'aspiration. L'orifice d'aspiration est connecté à une source de vide, ce qui permet d'aspirer les tissus cibles du patient vers l'ouverture d'aspiration. La fibre optique est connectée à un système laser à infrarouges, si bien que l'énergie laser qui sort de la fibre optique est dirigée vers une zone située dans l'ouverture d'aspiration et immédiatement au-dessus de cette dernière. L'énergie laser coupe et/ou enlève les tissus cibles qui sont immédiatement aspirés dans l'ouverture d'aspiration et évacués du corps du patient par le canal d'aspiration. Ledit système laser à infrarouges crée des bulles de vapeur mobiles à l'extrémité d'administration de la fibre optique afin d'améliorer la vitesse d'ablation et d'aspiration des tissus cibles.
