Abstract
Dans les systèmes de convoyeurs composés de véhicules individuels équipés de moteurs électriques d'entraînement et où l'alimentation en courant s'effectue par l'intermédiaire de lignes à contact glissant posées dans le sol, on ne peut appliquer qu'une tension très faible aux lignes à contact glissant, pour des raisons de sécurité. Il en résulte fréquemment des pannes dues au fait que le film de corrosion et d'impuretés qui se forme sur les lignes à contact glissant, ne bénéficie que d'une intensité trop faible du champ électrique, est détruit de manière incomplète, et fait office de couche isolante entre les collecteurs de courant et la ligne à contact glissant. Ces incidents ne surviennent que par endroits, mais altèrent cependant considérablement le fonctionnement du système (des véhicules s'arrêtent de manière inopinée ou se déplacent par à-coups). Pour remédier à cette situation, il est prévu que les véhicules soient pourvus d'accumulateurs d'énergie dont les éléments d'accumulation sont des condensateurs à électrolyte ou des embouts en or, dont la réserve énergétique suffit pour que les véhicules concernés puissent passer les points critiques.
