Abstract
The invention disclosed concerns a compact, modular-design installation for the partial processing of recycled glass. Intentionally or unintentionally or unintentionally added contamination or foreign bodies, such as broken glass or plastic bottles and metal cans mixed in to avoid breakage to the mixed-colour glass bottles and jars, is separated out with the type VS screen module, for the broken glass, and the type WS air separator, for specific lighter fractions such as metal cans and plastic bottles, leaving the intact glass bottles and jars. The hollow glass articles of a certain size thus obtained are passed through the type FSA sorting module which determines the colour of the glass with an optical sensor, processes the measurements and subsequently sorts the glass articles into any colours, preferably white, green and brown, in accordance with German glassworks purity specifications, on longitudinally running conveyors and discharges them into lateral chutes. Non-transparent articles such as ceramics, porcelain, stoneware, glass of undesired colours or metal cans are discharged separately at an end-located delivery point.
