Abstract

L'invention porte sur un procédé permettant de traiter des déchets organiques halogénés afin de produire des flux de gaz halogène et de gaz d'oxyde de carbone. Ce procédé consiste à amener des déchets organiques halogénés, dont le rapport atomique halogène-hydrogène est inférieur à environ 1, dans un bain de métal en fusion. Le bain de métal en fusion est inerte par rapport à l'halogène et possède une énergie d'oxydation libre supérieure à celle de la formation de monoxyde de carbone à partir de carbone atomique. La charge de déchets organiques halogénés est convertie en gaz halogène et en carbone atomique, à la suite de quoi le gaz halogène est libéré du bain de métal en fusion.
