- a second adhesive applicator is located adjacent the transfer roller to apply adhesive to said fluted mediums for bonding the first liner.
- the liner applicator rolls are positioned adjacent the corrugated belt downstream of such second adhesive applicator. Because the diameter of the transfer roll is smaller than in the apparatus proposed in the prior art, the difference in diameter of the transfer roll and the glue applicator roll is reduced and regular and even glue application is achieved.

- a high energy source of radiant energy 16 is used to accelerate curing of the adhesive bond between liner 3 of medium 2. This occurs prior to the reaching roll 11. After passing roll 11 the liner and the two mediums are conveyed downstream for further processing.

Abstract
Appareil servant à préparer des structures de carton ondulé dans lequel deux feuilles ondulées (1, 2) sont soudées au niveau des extrémités des cannelures pour former l'âme de la structure de carton ondulé. Deux ensembles de cylindres à onduler (4, 5, 6, 7) produisent les feuilles ondulées qui sont soudées au niveau des extrémités des cannelures et transférées sur la surface de support d'une courroie cannelée (10) qui passe sur la surface d'un cylindre de transfert (9) et d'une boîte à vide (12) courbée en arc. Ladite courroie cannelée (10) est perforée de manière à ce que les feuilles ondulées soient retenues sur la courroie cannelée par la source de vide à mesure que les feuilles sont acheminées après être passées par une station (13) d'application de colle et une station (14, 15) d'application de doublure pour former un carton simple face constitué de deux feuilles ondulées et d'une doublure.
