Description
Description
A safety and control device working on a moderator brake for agricultural motor hoes for dampening vibrations, shocks or jerks transmitted to the driving handle and for controlling the forward motion and the working depth of the machine
Summary of the Technical Field
The working principle of the device is based on a ploughing bit-blade member and on a moderator shoe acting as a sliding brake.
By means of a pressure which is suitable to the soil hardness and which is transmitted to the driving handles of the motor hoe by the operator, the members that the device of the invention is made up of engage in the soil and allow the agricultural machine to be driven in an extremely easy way and with very high precision in the works carried out under any conditions.
The new safety and control device of this invention, which removes all vibrations arising from shocks and jerks, gives rise from the accident prevention standpoint an optimal static control in driving the machine and allows the operator to drive with safety and correctly the machine itself, so that the operator is allowed to drive the same with the lowest body effort and with the highest psychological tranquillity.
Statement of the invention
This industrial invention is entitled "a safety and control device working on a moderator brake for agricultural motor hoes for campening vibrations, shocks and jerks transmitted to the driving handle and for controlling the forward
motion and the working deoth of the machine".
The extreme simplicity of the device of this invention allows industrial production of the device itself with the highest building easiness.
This is a result of the easy assembling of the device which consists of very few mechanical parts that are very easy to build and to assemble on an agricultural motor hoe without changing its fundamental operation.
In that way the durability of the motor hoe is improved, because the brakings that occur quite often in machines of the prior art as a result of jerks arising from discontinuities in the cutting attack on the soil where the agricultural motor hoe is employed are avoided.
Such device allows the correct cutting or ploughing of the soil, with the suitable size, preventing the cutting member of the machine from becoming jammed.
In controlling the driving and manoeuvering of the agricultural motor hoe, the remarkable sensitivity of the new device of this invention warrants a safe static grip to the operator with a safe and continuous control of the driving handles, and avoids shocks and vibrations normally transmitted to the arms and to the body of the operator with alteration of his reflex sensitivity.
The total result of the usefulness of the new device, in addition to what has been set forth as regards the performance of the meter hoe, is unquestionable and fundamental from the accident prevention standpoint to the operator.
It is suitable as regards this point to out into evidence the frequent anc very serious working accidents that quite often occur owing to the upsetting of motor hoes that slip out of the grip of the operator and run him over so giving rise to serious invalidities and to tne possibility
of fatal accidents.
The device is made up of the following essential parts:
A - bit-blade
B - sliding shoe;
C - horizontal hinge;
D - adjustment screw.
For the adjustment of the device in adapting the motor hoe to the nature of the soil to plo the component parts of the device of this invention can be fastened to one another, both in positions that can be adjusted with a screw system, and at fixed points which are set forth previously, with a set of reference holes, and even by means of a toothed rack system. Schematic operation
The operation of the. new device, whose result is safe and unfailing, is based on the mechanical principle of the braking effect given by the ploughing cut performed by the bit-blade member.
The component members of the device as a whole give rise to stabilizing simultaneous linear mechanical functions which are transmitted to all directions on driving the motor hoe towards the working directions of the same.
As pointed out in the arrangement shown in Figure I enclosed herein, by gripping the handle pair (1) of the motor hoe and putting the motor hoe in the position of engagement with the soil to plough giving the hoe the working motion by means of the clutch control (placed on one of said handles, the hoe-bearing rotor member (3) rotates in the direction (4) and causes the working forward motion of the machine itself in the direction (5) so allowing the machine to start its motion.
After the manoeuvering mentioned above, by transmitting a weak pushing impulse manually in the direction of the force (5) to the pair of handles (1), the member (A) of the device penetrates the soil beyond the tangential plane determined by the operating part of the motor hoe so allowing the member (B) to rest and slide on the same tangential plane, and determining as a consequence a cut in the compact soil underlying the device, down to a constant and adjustable depth (h), as shown schematically in Figure I enclosed herein.
Such condition determines the braking, adjusting and stabilizing action imposed by the device itself on the machine as an effect of the resisting force (7).
The ploughing action of the device at the constant depth (h) is kept constantly by the thrusts due to the force (8) of rotary direction transmitted continuously by the resisting effect whose direction is opposite to the working driving force (4), such thrusts having a common rotation centre on the rotor axle, as shown schematically in Figure I enclosed herein.
By means of the simple and easy manoeuvering for adjusting the crank screw (D) of the device, which adjustment can be performed by the operator himself curing employment of the motor hoe, the sliding shoe (B) runs on the bit-blade member (A) allowing the same to exert at a higher or a lower extent its ploughing and braking action by changing the height (h).
By means of the effect that is a result fo such adjustment, both the gssired working depth (p) and the optimal working forward speed in the direction (5) shown schematically in Figure I can be determined according to the hardness of the soil.
The balanced coordination of all thrust forces, determined by the functionality of the new stabilizing device of this invention, gives a balanced continuous control of the working firmness of the motor hoe so that maximum safety is assured to the operator of the machine.
The materials and sizes of the device of this invention which has been illustrated in the enclosed drawing and is claimed in the enclosed claims, can be of any kind and value respectively, according to the particular requirements in each case.
Moreover , a l l details can be substituted with other details which are equivalent from the technical standpoint without departing from the scope of the present patent of invention.
