Description

Packaging comprising an inner packaging and an outer packaging
The present invention relates to a packaging which consists of an outer packaging in which is received an inner packaging. The latter is provided with a neck which extends to the outside through an opening in the outer packaging. The invention has for its object to improve the packa¬ ging of the stated type in the sense that such packagings can be manufactured automatically in simple manner, while the fixing of the inner packaging to the outer packaging is ensured and in many circumstances can be limited only to a fixing at the position of the neck.
This is achieved with a packaging according to the invention which comprises an outer packaging and an inner packaging which is provided with a neck which extends towards the outside through an opening in the outer packaging, where- in the neck is provided with a snap ring with which an open¬ ing rim of the outer packaging is fixed to a neck flange. Through use of the snap ring which clicks onto the protruding neck it is possible to fix the inner packaging in simple manner to the outer packaging. To further improve fixing of the inner packaging to the outer packaging through use of the snap ring it is advantageous if an opening rim of the outer packaging and an opening rim of the inner packaging are received between the snap ring and the neck flange. Both packagings are thus clamped between the snap ring and the neck flange.
In order to avoid rotation of the neck when a screw cap is put on or removed, it is recommended that a surface of the neck flange facing the opening rim is provided with anti- rotation means distributed over its periphery. An optimal packaging is obtained if the anti-rotation means comprise anti-rotation members locking respectively against left-hand rotation and right-hand rotation, whereby it is ensured with greater certainty when for instance the screw cap is being removed or put on that rotation of the neck in relation to the outer packaging will not take place. When a packaging is used with a usually form-retaining outer packaging, the opening rim of the outer packaging can be provided in addition to the said anti-rotation means or in place thereof with recesses arranged distributed over the periphery, in which anti-rotation means can be received. Due to the engaging of the anti-rotation means, for instance ridge-like members, into the recesses, rotation is avoided. With the other, above mentioned anti-rotation means which grip into the material of the outer packaging it is possible to further reduce the rotation.
The snap ring preferably covers the recesses arranged in the opening rim of the outer packaging, thus resulting in an aesthetically pleasing packaging.
The packaging according to the invention can be used in outer packagings which are form-retaining as well as those which are substantially flexible. A very elegant packaging results when the inner packaging can be welded to the neck flange which is provided beforehand with circular rings of suitable welding material for that purpose.
Mentioned and other features of the packaging according to the invention will be described hereinafter by way of example on the basis of two embodiments which are only inten¬ ded as illustrative of the invention. Reference is made herein to the drawing, in which figures 1 and 2 are partly broken away perspective views of two packagings according to the invention; figure 3 is an exploded view of detail III of figure 1; and figure 4 is a section along the line IV-IV in figure 3. Figure 1 shows a packaging 1 according to the invention which consists of a form-retaining outer packaging 3, for instance of cardboard, and a flexible inner packaging 4, for instance of polyethylene. The inner packaging 4 comprises a neck 5 provided with a screw cap 6. The neck 5 protrudes with a neck portion 8 out of the outer packaging via an opening 7 in the outer packaging 3. As shown in figure 3, the protruding neck portion 8 is provided with a screw thread 9 onto which the screw cap 6 can be screwed. The neck 5 is further provided with a neck flange 10 onto which is welded an opening rim 11 of inner packaging 4, as identifiable from the weld seam 12. A surface 21 of the neck flange 10 is further provided with anti-rotation means. These latter comprise ridge-shaped anti-rotation members 14, rectangular anti-rotation members 15 which lock against rotation in clockwise direction and triangular anti-rotation members 16 which lock against rotation in counter-clockwise direction.
Using the neck 5 the inner packaging 4 is fixed to the outer packaging 3 by means of a snap ring 18 which clicks onto the protruding neck portion 8 and is provided for this purpose with a snap edge 19 which engages in a snap-in groove 17 located in the neck portion 8.
The anti-rotation members 14 herein come to lie in recesses 13 which are arranged over the periphery in an opening rim of opening 7 in the outer packaging 3, while the anti-rotation members 15 and 16 engage in teeth 22 located between the recesses 13.
Figure 4 shows in cross section the fixing of the inner packaging 4 to the outer packaging 3 by means of the snap ring 18 which engages with its snap edge 19 into a snap-in groove 17 of neck 5 and therein clampingly fixes inner packaging 4 and outer packaging 3 between the snap ring 18 and the neck flange 10. It can be seen clearly that the snap ring 8 covers the recesses 13 and the anti-rotation members 14 located therein as well as the anti-rotation members 15 and 16.
Finally, figure 2 shows another packaging 2 according to the invention in which in this ^ se a non-form-retaining material is used as outer packaging 20. This non-form-retain¬ ing material can for instance consist of a woven material of natural or synthetic fibres, and in the case of synthetic fibres for instance aramide fibres. In contrast to the packa¬ ging 1, the recesses 13 arranged in the opening rim of open¬ ing 7 of outer packaging 3 can be omitted in this case and the anti-rotation members 14, 15 and 16 grip directly into the material of the outer packaging 20 located in the opening rim of opening 7. The packaging comprises two necks 23, 24 which are each closed off with a screw cap 6 and attached to the outer packaging with the snap ring 18. The neck 24 is used for filling and the neck 23 for venting the packaging 2 which can have a capacity of 20,000 litres. The inner packa¬ ging is preferably made for this purpose of mutually welded strips of plastic.
According to the invention it is sufficient in many cases that the inner packaging is fixed to the outer packa¬ ging only at the position of the neck by making use of a snap ring which clamps the outer packaging to the inner packaging. Although not shown in the drawing, the inner packaging can also be fixed to the bottom surface of the neck flange 10.
