Abstract

Un dispositif d'affichage pouvant être monté sur un casque comprend une paire d'ensembles de prismes dichroïques, comportant chacun une face de projection ainsi que trois faces latérales. Un dispositif de relais variateur de lumière à cristaux liquides (RVLCL) est monté sur chaque face, et une source de lumière fluorescente est montée en alignement avec chaque RVLCL afin de projeter respectivement un faisceau de lumière rouge, verte et bleue dans le RVLCL correspondant, et dans chaque prisme dichroïque. Chaque ensemble de prismes dichroïques synthétise les faisceaux séparés de lumière colorée, et projette un faisceau résultant par l'intermédiaire de la face de projection. Chaque faisceau résultant est transéré par des lentilles de relais à une paire de lentilles de projection; les lentilles de projection projettent respectivement chaque faisceau de lumière sur un réflecteur sphérique, lequel combiné à un réflecteur blanc, projette une image virtuelle non déformée tridimensionnelle de couleurs pures, à l'infini, dans les yeux de l'utilisateur du casque.
