  • the present inventors have now found that serotonin and other indole analogues adsorb serum proteins to provide a functionally stable complex, which complex has a strong affinity for a variety of cells. This property of the indole group to adsorb adhesive serum proteins was not recognised prior to the work of the present inventors.

Abstract

On effectue la préparation d'une surface pour la croissance de cellules en immobilisant un indole sélectionné dans le groupe contenant de la sérotonine, de la tryptamine, du L-tryptophane et des composés analogues sur un substrat approprié, puis en exposant l'indole à des protéines de sérum adhésives, ce qui permet à l'indole d'adsorber les protéines et de former ainsi un complexe d'indole-protéines immobilisé pour la croissance de cellules. Ladite surface peut également être utilisée comme implant dans des tissus humains.
