Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel injection nozzle according to the preamble of the main claim.
- a good atomization of the fuel jet is achieved by the swirl movement caused by these injection nozzles.
- the swirl channels are formed by oblique grooves in the nozzle body, which wall sections of the valve needle are opposite.
- This embodiment is disadvantageous in particular in the case of injection nozzles with a valve needle opening inward against the fuel flow, because in this case the oblique grooves are provided in the interior of the nozzle body and can only be given a moderate shape and surface quality with a reasonable production outlay.
- the swirl channels are formed by oblique grooves in the valve needle head downstream of its valve seat surface.
- This Design requires a special shape of the valve needle and, in addition, the fuel jet is deflected several times downstream of the valve seat, with a relatively large loss of energy.
- the arrangement according to the invention with the characterizing features of the main claim has the advantage that a high shape and surface quality of the swirl channels can be achieved with normal manufacturing effort and that a valve needle of the type customary in injection nozzles without swirl device can be used.
- the swirl device can be varied as desired without changing other nozzle components and can be adapted to the respective requirements.
- the desired effect can be further increased if the swirl channels have a cross section which narrows towards the nozzle opening.
- FIG. 1 shows the section of an injection nozzle on the combustion chamber side according to the exemplary embodiment, enlarged and in section
- FIG. 2 shows an end view of the bushing of the injection nozzle according to FIG. 1 containing the oblique grooves.
- the injection nozzle has a nozzle body 10 which, together with an intermediate part 12, is clamped to a nozzle holder 16 by means of a union nut 14.
- a nozzle opening 18 and in front of it a conical valve seat 20 is formed which merges smoothly into a shoulder surface 22 with the same conicity.
- a valve needle 24 is slidably mounted, which has an annular shoulder 28 in the area of a pressure chamber 26 at the transition to a shaft 30 with a smaller diameter.
- the front end of the shaft 30 on the combustion chamber side has a sealing cone 32 which, with the valve seat 20, is one of the nozzle opening 18 upstream valve forms.
- a connection piece for a fuel feed line is provided, from which a bore 34 leads into an annular groove 36 in the intermediate disk 12.
- the annular groove 36 is connected via a bore 38 to an annular groove 40 in the nozzle body 10, from which a bore 42 leads into the pressure chamber 26.
- a bore 44 which surrounds the shaft 30 of the valve needle 24 with a larger radial clearance, extends from the pressure chamber 26 to the front end of the nozzle body 10 on the combustion chamber side and merges there via the shoulder surface 22 into the valve seat 20.
- the pressure of the supplied fuel exerts a force on the valve shoulder 24 in the space 26 on the annular shoulder 28, which force tries to move the valve needle 24 upwards away from the valve seat 20.
- the valve needle 24 has a pin 46, which passes through a bore 48 in the washer 12 with play.
- the annular shoulder 50 of the valve needle 24 formed at the transition to the pin 46 limits the opening stroke of the valve needle 24 in cooperation with the lower end face of the intermediate disk 12.
- the bore 48 leads into a larger bore 52 in the intermediate disc 12, which opens into a blind hole 54 in the nozzle holder 16, which forms a chamber 56 with the bore 52 for receiving a closing spring 58. This acts in the closing direction on the valve needle 24 via a pressure piece 60 arranged in the bore 52.
- a sleeve 62 is slidably mounted, the end face 64 facing the nozzle opening 18 with the same taper as the valve seat 20 and the shoulder surface 22 is tapered.
- the bushing 62 is provided with a plurality of oblique grooves 66, which are evenly distributed over the circumference and which each enclose an angle ⁇ with the corresponding radial plane 68 (distorted in perspective in FIG. 2).
- a spring 70 acts on the bushing 62, which is supported on the annular shoulder 28 of the valve needle 24 and the bushing 62 presses on the shoulder surface 22.
- the oblique grooves 66 in the bushing 62 and the shoulder surface 22 on the nozzle body 10 together form the swirl grooves through which the fuel passes from the pressure chamber 26 to the valve seat 20 and further to the nozzle opening 18.
- the smooth transition from the shoulder surface 22 into the valve opening ensures low-friction primary steering and introduction of the fuel into the nozzle opening 18.
- Pressure equalization prevails at the bushing 62 itself, so that the spring 70 always holds the bushing 62 firmly against the shoulder surface 22.
