To all whom it 'may concern Be it known that I, LEVI TILL, of Sandusky, in the county ot' Erie, and State of Ohio, hare invented a new and useful Imprzwelnentin Windows; and I do hereby declare that the'lbllowing is a full', clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art t0 nlakeand use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part ot' this specification.

Y `l\l y invention relates to windows; and consists in an improved construction and armngement otpznts, whereby they may he more conveniently cleaned and repaired.

Figure 1 represents a front elevation of' a window constructed according,r to my improvement, with apart broken away at the top;

I make the stiles of' the sash in two parts, a b and c d, and fit the lpa-rtsl b and d to work up and down between the stops e fg, and preferably in grooves therein.

At one side I hinge the parts ac to the other parts, as represented at h, and at the other, side I connect the two parts byspringstops 'i or other suitable fastenings.

In order to cause the upper sash to open freely past the central stop' f, I make it slightly narrower than the lower sash, and to cover the joints of the two parts of the Stiles, and form shoulders for the sash to close against, I arrange the outer and central stops to lap the said joints, as clearly shown in the sectional tie. 2.
