` This invention relates to an 'improvement in cancelling and similar exnbossing.pre'sses, the object being to make an adjustable press, so. that the same press may be used-for dierent impressions. To this end,

',lhc'invention consists in the arrangementoff` two lwheels, one above and directly over the other, on one of which the letter, ligure, or words are raised, and on the other, depressions are formed corresponding 'to the raised portions o f the first, so that by setting the two wheels, so that the projections -of the one correspond tothe depressions of the other, any article placed between such portions ofthe two wheels, and the wheels forced together by pressure, will emboss the thing so placed between the wheels, in accordance with the fi'gnres, letters, words, or design upon the two wheels.

In order to the clear understanding of my invention,

Iwill fully describe the same, as illustrated in the acconipanyingrawings.

A is the lower wheel, hung upon an axis, B, so as to be revolved thereon, and,-in connection with the said wheel, a table, O, is arranged, so as to lie flush with the upper edge-of the wheel, as seen in iig. 1.

I am aware that a single wheel has been constructed and adjusted for printing in cancelling-presses; I therefore' do not claim the arrangement, in acancellingpress, of a wheel, adjusted so as to press different iigures for cancellingoiy embossing-purposes; but
