Description
UNITED STATES PATENT VILLIAM ULRICH AND CHARLES HACHMEISTER, OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY..
IM PROVED HARNESS-ORNAMENT.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 90,610, dated May 25, 1869.
To all 'whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that we, WILLIAM ULRICH and CHARLES HAcHMEIs'rER, of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented Improved Harness-Ornaments 5 and we do hereby declare that the following isa full and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
Our invention relates to improvements in making ornamented rosettes for harness; and consists in forming the lower part of the rosette of brass or other suitable metal, over which is placed a corresponding piece of ornamented hard rubber, the two being connected together by Han ges, as hereinafter fully set forth.
In the accompanying' drawings, B represents the base of the rosette, which is made of brass or other suitable metal. A is a piece of ornamented hard rubber, which rests on the metallic piece D.
The outer edge or circumference of the ornamented rubber piece A is securely attached tothe base B by means of its entering the space m, formed between the plate D and the turned-down upper part of the base B.
A pin or bolt, E, having a large metallic head, F, is passed through the rubber A and plate D.
By this construction of rosette, the parts are firmly attached to each other, and the contrast between the metallic parts and the ornamented rubber piece renders the rosette highly ornamental.
Having thus fully described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by- Letters Patent, is-
The rosette consisting of the metallic base B, plate D, hard-rubber piece A, and bolt E, as an improved article of manufacture, all arranged and constructed in the manner and for the purpose set forth.
WM. ULRICH. CHARLES HACHMEISTER.
Wtn esses HORACE HARRIS, LEwIs PRESTON.
