Be it known that AI, CHARLES Onoss, of. i The object of this invention is to provide a more convenient and useful measure for .shoemakers use than any now inuse. i' l v `,It consists of the arrangement, upon a suitable bedl piece, of measures adapted to take the length of the feet, breadth at the heels, at the widest part of the ioot, and the'thickness of the great toe, both for right and left feet, adjustable, to all sizes,- thefmeasures which come -under the feet being inlaid in the said bed, so that the `feet set firmly on the said bed-piece when being measured. v 4

The scale E is arranged iu a sliding part F of the bed, tobe adjusted as required for feet `of dilerent lengths, and both are `inlaid iu the bed. The measures C and C are provided, with vertica scalesfand slides G/G, for taking the vertical measurement of the great toes. -In taking the measurements, the right foot is placed on the left side, and-the left foot on the right side of the apparatus.

` By this arrangement of measures,' the operation of measuring is mademore easy andy accurate, the feet being in a more natural position, and, as they rest on the 'bed-piece, andpuot on the measures, the slides may be movedwth greater facility. l VI claimas new, and desire to secure by Letter Patent- Y l.
