F. H. FULLER.
Lamp Burner. No. 79,969. Patented July 14, 1868.

UNITED STATES PATE T OFFICE.
FRANK H. FULLER, OF SOUTH BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
IMPROVEMENT IN LAMP-BURNERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 79,969, dated July 14, 1868.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK .H. FULLER, of South Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and Improved Lamp-Burner and Idohercby declare that the following is a full, clear, and
exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.
This invention relates to improvements in lamp-burners for burningkeroseneorother oils; and it consists in the construction and arran ge= ment of parts, as hereinafter described.
Figure 1 is a sectional elevation of the burner complete. Fig.2 is a horizontal section, looking from the line :20 w of Fig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corrosponding parts.
A is the cap or cone of the burner.
B is a conical perforated annular ring, to which the cap A is attached. By connecting the cap with the perforated ring B the wick is surrounded byjets of air, which, passing upward around the flame, afford an additional supply of oxygen for supporting the flame. A current of air also passes upward in contact with the wick-tube and wick, also within the chimney, so that there is a plentiful supply of air, and a most brilliant light is produced. The annular perforated ring B is supportedby stands 0, which are fastened to the wick-tube D.
E is a rim for supporting the chimney.
F is a perforated disk-shaped plate, to which the rim E is attached; and Gis the perforated base to which the part F is attached. The lower end of this base Gr forms the ordinary screw for the neck of the lamp, and the lower portion of the wick-tube is rigidly attached thereto. The wick-tube is in two pieces, they being connected by a telescopic joint at 2', so that the upper and the lower portions of the burner may be separated for convenience in cleaning and other purposes.
I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. The wick-tube D, made in two sections, when the upper section is fitted over thelower, as at 1, whereby the separation of the parts of the burner for cleansingis facilitated, as hereinset forth.
2. Thelamp-burn er, constructed as described, and consisting of the perforated conical ring D andcap A, supported on stands 0, projecting from the upper section of the wick-tube, and the concave perforated disk F, rim E, and part G, attached to the lower section of the wicktube, all arranged as herein shown and described, for the purpose specified.
FRANK H. FULLER.
