IMPROVEMENT IN CORN-MARKERS, due.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it -known that I, J. P.'OLIN, of estfield, in the county of Medina, and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Corn-Markers, 850.; and I do hereby declare that the follo-wingis a full and complete description of the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a side view.

Figure 2 is a rear view;

Figure 3 is a. top view.

Like letters of reference refer to like parts in the views.

In the drawings, A represents a frame, to which the corn-markersB are attached. Atop view of this frame is shown in fig. 3, which consists of'the two bars A B connected together by the end-oars C. D is the tongue to which the horses are attached. Two of the markers B are attached to the bar A. These markers consist-of feet a secured to standards, as shown, which are pivoted or hung in the bar A, the end passing into aslot in said bar. To each end of the frame A is hinged, at F, the arm E. I In these bars aresecured the feet B, thus making four markers at equal distances apart. H is the handle by which the apparatus is guided. If it is wished only to mark three rows, the frame at one end-can be turned up, as shown in fig. 2, and if only two rows, both ends can be turned up. Thus this marker can be used for marking two, three, or four rows at once, and more feet'can'be added, if desired. v i

When the marker is not in use the ends can be thrown up in this way, and thus occupy very little room, and it is also very convenientin transportation.

This marker, as represented, is for marking the rows about four feet apart, but they can be marked nearer by moving the feettowards each other, slots, I, being cut in the bars for that purpose, thus rendering the feet adjustable, and allowing'them to be moved further from or nearer to, as is desired to mark the rows nearer or further apart.

What I claim as my improvement, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The arms E, braced and hinged to the frzime A, and markers .13, in combination with the frame A and adjustable markers B,.suhstantiaily as and for the purpose set forth.
