lTO ALL WHOM IT'MAY GONCERN:
Be it known thatL'GEORGE A. PRIDHAM, of Newark, in the eounty of Essex, and in the State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Door-Bolts; and do hereby deolere that the following. is atulhclezm and exact description thereof, reference being had to the aocotpenying drawing-s,
ond to the letters of reference marked thereon.
In the annexedv drawings, making port of this specification, A represents lthe ease of the bolt, which eonsists oi' e. metallic plate, with sides or edges I I cest upon it, in such a. manner as to form, with the plete,` a doveJtailed groove, into which the bolt E slides and is held secure. This plate has cttst in it a. long slot, C, a, hole, B, and. several screw-holes, ci Screws pziss through holes d d, for the purpose of confining it to the door. E represents the bolt, 'which .is cast of metal, and with two holes or openings in it, in which'ore out suiteble screw-threads. G represents a headed-screw, without threadon its inner end. By turning thesc're'w F in one direction the'disk ,is caused to' enter the opening-B, and thus station the holt; and by reversing the screw the disk iswithdrewn from said opening, so as to allow the'bol't to play freely in and outof the case. The end of screw G playing in theislot C, and striking:r against 'its ends, allows the bolt to move only the length of the said slot C in and out-of the case. The opening Bis placed so that the disk upon screwF is opposite it, when the bolt is out its greatest distance in securing the door, and the disk entersths'opening to keep the bolt in this position. H is a flange upon the plete A, through whih screws pass to confine it to the edge of thel door.
