TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that we, W. H. WELLS end JOSEPH HAWSE, of Newport Centre, in the county of Orleans, and State of Vermont, have invented o. new und. improved Clothes-Pin; and we do herebyT lleclnre that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof', which will enable those skilled in the zi-rt to make ond use thc seme, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming p-.irt of this specification.
'lhe present invention relates to a. pin or cl-.trnp for confining a line-.1nd clothes and other materials hung or suspended thereon, which pin or clamp is formed of n. continuous wire that, between its two ends, is coiled sutliciently to give it e spring or elasticity, and at each end is provided with :tn arm or roller, attached thereto in any suitable manner. In the accompanying plete of drawings our improved clothes-pin or clnmn is illustrated- Figure 1 being n side orface view of the sume, and

A, in the drawings, represents our improved clothes-pin or clamp. This clothespin is mede from :L wire, a, that, between its two ends b, is coiled to` e degree sufficient to give its arms B elasticity or spring enough to close, by the rollers or arm C applied to such end, against each other, and there be held, consequently confining the line and the clothes, tc., suspended thereon, between the two arms, ns shown in red nt D.
We claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The clothes-pin, constructed as described, having its ends b bent nt right angles to the body, t0 receive the rollers C, which press against each other beneath the clothes-line, the lutter being placed at D, between the arms a a, es herein shown and described.
