TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, JAMES McFEELY, of North Woburn, .in the county of Middlesex, and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new andvuseful Improvement in Vindow-Screens; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.
The present invention consists in so constructing the frame to a window or doorscreen in such manner that water can be made or allowed to tlow over the surface of the screen from top to betteln, whereby, while the dust, the., is more perfectly excluded, the atmosphere ofthe room is rendered cooler and more pleasant.
In the accompanying plate of drawings my improvements in window-screens are illustrated, thegure being a central transverse vertical section through a window-screen constructed according thereto.
. A, in the drawings, represents the frame to e window-screen, B. This frame, at its upper rail or strip C, is
provided with a tank or reservoir, D, that extends along` the length of the sume. This tank D has a series of o perforations, o1' one continuous opening, a, along eachlside ofthe screen B, so that water in such tank can pass down and over the screen in a sheet form or nearly so, falling into the tank or receptacle E, located and xed in the proper position in the lower rail F, to the freine A, from which it escapes at the pipe G. By the abovedescribed construction of a window or door-screen, it is obvious the purposes of the present invention are secured.
I claim as new, and desire te secure by Letters Patent- The perforated or slotted tank D, reservoir E, and spout G, in combination with the frame A. and screen B, substantially as described for the purpose specified.
The above specification of my` invention signed by me this 16th day of July, 1867.
JAMES M CFEELY.
