IMPROVBD ATTACHMENT FOR BREAST-COLLARS.

Be it known4 that I, R. E. MILES, of Louisville, in the county of'` Jefferson, and State of Kentucky, have invented a new and improved Attachment vfor Breast-Collars; undl I do hereby declare that the following is a. full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others lskilled in the art to make and use the some, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.-

This invention consists ot\a.n improved attachment for breast-collarsadapted for double harness.

The object of my invention is to keep the coller secure in place when backing, und is attained hyattaching theround leathers or straps and malltingale to the-loops of my improved attachment, as hereinafter; described, a-nd running the former to the rings and thence to the pad. n the accompanying drztwing- 4Iiigure 1 is o. perspective view of the harness, with the fold removed to sho'w how my improved attachment for breast-collars is placed. A'n irorr plate, A, is inserted between the luy and fold ofthe body oi' the collar, and bears three loops B, B', and C, whereof B and B are inserted in the upper part of the plete A, at 'equal distonces from the centre line z x, and are directed outwards to left and right respectively. The third loop C directed downwards is inserted in the middle ofthe lower port ofthe plete A, The plate A is securedin place in the collar Y by the bolts or screws pp, one at the buse of each upper loop, and nlso the bolt or scrennq, (whose thread'is seen in fig. 3 et 8,) which secures to the collar Y the ring or link R, to which the chain or strap of `the pole is attached. The'. round leathers or straps L L run from the upper loop to the rings M M', and thence to the pad N, and with the martingnle O, which is attached to the lower loop, secure the whole to the'body of the horse.
