TO ALL'WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, JOHN D. BOWEN, of Roseburg, in the county of Douglas, in the State of Oregon, have invented a new and improved Cutter and Addition to the Land-Side of Ploughs; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.

The nature of my invention consists inproviding the land-sideof a plough with a, sheath and cutter combined in one piece, cut out of a sheet of steel, and secured to thebar of the laud-side by bolts, and at the fore end by a, lap of the share.

Reference being bed to the accompanying drawings, it will be seen that the plate A, cut substantially of the shape shown, serves asa cutter and sheath to the bar of the laud-side, and when attached by the bolts 3 and lap of the share 0, gives a continuous smooth surface, diminishing the friction, and being easily detached and replaced when worn out.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A cutter and bar-sheath out in one piece out of a sheet of steel, and attached to the bar of the land-side so as to be. removable at will.
