IMPROVED MOP SQUEEZER.
T O ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCER:
Be it known 'that we, E. S', 'WILKINS and J. STRAW, oflStowe, Lemoille county, and State of Vermont, have invented a new :mdl useful Mop Squeezei" with treodlei'nd spring lever combined; and we do hereby declare the following to be nn exept description thereof, reference being had to the n'ccompenying"drowings, end to the letters of reference merk'ed thercon, innking a. part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 represents o top yiew of the machine; and i Fignre 2 a longitudinl section.
The nature of our invention consists in the treodle mop squeezer and spring lever and peil, as arranged end combined as follows: i i
,A small frame, A, is attached to a common peil, B, by an odjustable hoop or enrs,` O, as we may choose.
` Attached to thisfreme A are two side-boards, D D, hung,` and Operating et one end on a roller, E, with :i pressboard, G, between them, end mode firm to the sideboerds D. The other press-board H is attached to't'he sideboards D by a. round tenon, J, on the lower edge, which-slides in aI mortise, K, in the side-boards, with rubber Vspringe L to assis't in the pressure. The board H is confined at the other end of the frame by o tapering lever,
M, fastened to the'press-board H ot one end, end at the other end Operating in the roller N that is across the frame A. On this lever M is a coiled Wire spring, P, which presses against the rollerY N so as to throw up and open the press-boards G and H. At one end of the side-boards D is etteched o trendle, R, to place the foot on and press down the side-boards D and close the press-boards G and H together-and between which the mop is squeezed and cleensed. i I
We do not claim press-boards or a. treadle :md spring lever as commonly used, but what we elaim as ou'r invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The treadle R, mop squeeze G and H, and spring lever M and pit-il B, when arranged, combined, and operated as herein described, and for the purposes set forth.`
