Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 58,756, dated October 16, 1866.
To all whom it 'may concern:
Be it known tha-t I, HIRAM BAKKER, of Aurora, county of Dearborn and State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful Improvement on a lashing-Machine; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification, in which- A is the drum 0r revolving part, which is constructed in such a manner, in connection with the roller and pins D, as to cause the clothes to rub both ways on the wash-board F Without reversing the drum B, the uprights supporting the revolving part; G, the trough or box to empty the suds in 5 D, the roller and pins, of which the long pins No. l catch the clothes every revolution and retain them until the pins No. l stand perpendicular, when they slide down on the short pins No. 2, which stand at right angles with the long pins, causing the roller to turn part round, letting the clothes fall back on the Wash-board, causing them to rub back again, E, the water ange or elevator, which collects about two gallons of water every revolution and retains it until that part of the drum is uppermost, when it dashes it back on the clothes again.
I claim- The construction of the watering-tub A, the movable shaft D with its pins, the Harige E, and ribs F, all the whole being arranged and operating in the manner herein set forth.
